This is a really cool concept, I love this sort of store management/space merchant stuff. The gameplay was pretty chaotic and confusing at times, even after reading through the tutorial. I didn't realize time was ticking the whole time. Even if I didn't quite figure out what I was doing, it's clear there is a lot of effort and cool ideas here. This is definitely the type of game I'd spend a lot of time playing, kudos for thinking outside the box and coming up with a cool twist on the theme!
God I wished the dialogs would hide the background and the time stopped when you are restocking.
Those two factors made it very difficult for me truely enjoy this otherwise fantastic submission.
I love the setting, I love the artworks, I love the idea/genre. Theme interpretation was stellar (pun intended).
One more feedback: most pixel art font are super crisp at a certain px settings. It seems also makes it more easy to read. Check the docs or yours or try around a little.
Thanks for the helpful feedback! I'm working on a UI overhaul. I didn't have enough time to playtest to figure out how much of a constraint time was, it seemed in my head like it wouldn't matter while restocking but I'll look at the mechanics and see what makes sense.
Yeah maybe I am being unfair and the time running is a critical gameplay element. Anyway, I felt overwhelmed in the beginning and the clock ticking made it stressful so I skipped reading and just clicked around :)
I love resource sims! I ran into the same problems as everybody else but I still managed to have some satisfied customers!
Thanks!
I like how so many elements were intertwined into building a very original world of doing business with aliens. You provided great descriptions about the mechanics in the "how to play" section, but I still got quite lost during the gameplay. If you gradually introduced the player into subsections of the game and unlocked more mechanics as the game progresses it could potentially make it easier to grasp things.
I like the style, but unfortunately the fonts were hardly readable for me and there was a bit of overlapping ui (especially during the haggling time) so it was difficult to process the information.
I think that if you improve the font readability and smooth out the learning curve this game has a great potential!
Boy did I chuckle about UFOnlyFans - great idea!
Possibly the best game description so far. Great humor but the font and colors were hard for me to see. Once I figured out haggling was clicking, I actually progressed but I frequently clicked right past the results so never got a sense of how much was too much.
I really like the vibe of this, I hope you get some time to stream line it, keep it up!
Thanks! Readability is def difficult! I am working on that today for a post-jam patch
Great graphics, I was impressed how everything followed a similar aesthetic and hope you could expand this concept.
Wow, there was a lot here. I appreciated the number of layers to this, but as others have mentioned it was a bit hard figure out, both because of the transparency issues and the lack of tutorial (though making all of this and tutorial to go with it would be quite the feat).
Regardless, this was still a really neat idea and seems to be pretty fully fleshed out, so nice job!
Very comprehensive, maybe a little hard to read because of the transparency of the backgrounds, some of the backgrounds are maybe a little too challenging for my eyes lol, I would have appreciated a tutorial because being thrown like this inside something so structured is challenging, but still it indicates that a lot of work was done behind everything
Thanks! I am thinking through how best to add a tutorial, I think it can be done with a pretty simple function that changes tabs and displays sprites.
We really liked the idea. The transparency made things a bit hard to read in places. Would be nice to have a speed setting, or slower paced tutorial level, so you can take time to explore all the options.
I started adding shaded backgrounds under the UI panels but didn't get to all of them by the deadline. A tutorial level is a great idea and something pretty easy to implement. Thanks for the feedback!
Amazing how much stuff you fit in here. I loved all the different tabs and items, and hurried to provided my customers the valuable items that we're known for.
Known for the highest quality mid quality goods in this corner of the galaxy!
The setting and general concept is amazing. I also loved how immersive it is with the weird names and lore attached to everything.
BUT: I lost my first round simply because I didn't know that you had to spam-click when selling items. And the time pressure is so immense that there's no way I could appreciate all the little fun text without losing.
If you continue the development or make a similar concept in the future, I'd love to play it. It gave me the same feeling as when playing Hardspace: Shipbreaker. In fact, I now will play a couple rounds of that!
Thanks! I forgot to put in an explainer about negotiating!
Loved the setting and weirdo levels of this, I think our games are set in the same universe! I got stressed out by the bill timers, trying to learn what to do while the bills were going out, very chaotic!
Thanks! I am too fried to review games today but I look forward to playing yours tomorrow!
