Great entry! Enjoyed the fun twist on the tomb-raider/Indiana Jones theme where you're the undead force protecting the artifacts. I love picturing just outside the tomb where there must be hundreds of Nathan Drakes just waiting for their turn to snatch the idol 😂
Gameplay-wise this was a lot of fun to keep trying for a better score. Best strategy seemed to be to focus on the idols at the back of the room. If you're looking for suggestions for future features, a wave system with different kinds of enemies would be cool :)
Thanks.
The original idea was more ambitious, but if there's one thing jams teach you is to compromise. My original idea had multiple levels with each level having a number of explorers (kind of like a wave system). Then it became a wave system and then, when the time was running out, it became an endless horde mode. I still intend to go back to it after the jam ends.
nice little game, i loved the graphics
Nicely done! The visuals were solid, as well as the audio.
As mentioned below, ramping up the difficulty more over time would have been nice, or some other kind of variation that would keep things interesting.
Regardless, great job!
Loved the art and we stan mummies stopping pillagers.
Nobody could come near the 2 treasures in the back! Good game
Incorrect wildcard, the Mummy is definitely the hero here, protecting these artifacts from all these British Museum goons. I really loved the visual style and lighting here, with the fantastic music it creates quite a vibe. Well done, great submission!
The art style and visuals are amazing. Also, I really liked the music and sound effects.
Great game!
The mummy is the HERO! I did my best to fight back all the pesky raiders, but eventually I was left with a single artifact that I defended bone and bandage. Great game!
A great little game. The idea is easy to understand and executed well.
The SFX and music were nice. Loved the retro/hand-painted style!
If anything, I would say adding a slight variation to the archaeologist's speeds would liven it up slightly, as once you get the rhythm they don't stand a chance.
Overall, fantastic submission.
Thanks!
Yes, the pattern of the archeologists are easy to spot. The balancing was done at the very end and right away I watched people just figure out a way to cheese them and play until they got bored. Increasing their speed with time and making it more varied would have caught people by surprise and allow the game to be not as cheese-able.
Again, thanks for playing and for your feedback.
A very nice and balanced game, simple and fun. I liked it a lot! Very good music and sfx!
Thanks a lot.
I still think I should've made an extra balancing pass, it was too hard right before submitting and then I changed and it became a little too predictable and grindy.
Well, it's as they say. In jams, it's better to lean more to the easy side so people can enjoy your game in the short time they have to dedicate to it.
Excellent entry! Solid arcade gameplay, great presentation. I liked the art a lot. Good job!
