Succor's itch.io pageTell us about your PROGRESS.
This was initially a jam game I worked on two years ago with two other people. It sat dusty while I worked on other projects and then dealt with setbacks. There's an extensive postmortem linked on the main itch page detailing the key changes I made (https://loressa.itch.io/succor/devlog/919027/succor-2025-update-postmortem), but the tl;dr is I updated:
- UI
- Added additional art
- Added more content
- Revamped the narrative to tell a deeper, more nuanced story about ways trauma can haunt us and shape our actions
- LOTS of fixing bugs as I created them :P
I consider this project mostly complete. I will update to fix any bugs found by players and may add a few more features if there are requests, but I'm proud to call this a DONE game.
Tell us about the project's IMPACT.
Excited - for almost a year, I've been unable to work on games due to a serious health issue, so revamping an old project was a great way to relearn the ropes. It feels really relieving to know that my brain still works (I had despaired over the temporary reduction in function) and I find myself energized and motivated to keep going with game dev...as well as positive changes in the rest of my life.
Health setbacks are more than just physical and returning to function can involve emotional components as well. Working on finishing this game helped give me a boost of confidence and a creation of momentum that I really needed.
I don't think this game will change the world on any large scale, but little pebbles can make large ripples. I hope a few people find inspiration in tackling their own personal demons and healing in their own ways, and their changes might then have positive imapcts on the lives of those around them.

Here's a "trophy"!
I really appreciate this entry and the time you put into your postmortem. I also know what it's like to have a long stretch where you don't feel like your brain works, so it's good to know that you're doing better and that working on this project helped!
For the game itself, I was impressed with how much writing you did for this. I spent way more time than I thought I would just channel surfing and enjoying the descriptions. :) You also really captured that feeling of being stuck and struggling to get those small wins. And the overall style works really well together.
Congrats on finishing it!
Thanks for your feedback. I'm unfortunately dealing with another bout of health issues, so I can't sit at PC and review games right now. I plan to once I'm doing better and yours will be top of my list!
