I beat it at normal after 27 minutes. It felt like a hour.
I had a hell of a time and If there was some small tweaks to the orange rock I would have enjoyed it more.
Cool cave atmosphere though.
You did a good job! keep it up!

Game Description
After reaching the bottom of the world’s deepest cave, Krubera, during your solo expedition, you must navigate treacherous paths and limited light in your desperate journey back to the surface. Game too hard? Don't worry, just change the difficulty in the options.
How does your game tie into the theme?
The theme of “expedition” is central to the game—you begin at the end of a successful descent and must now survive the perilous return trip. It explores the lesser-told side of expeditions: not the glory of reaching the goal, but the challenge of making it back alive.

I died so many times trying to skip a few squeaky rocks. Well done :)
A stunning game with a super creating mechanic. I loved how you created the atmosphere through tight corridors and rocky caves. The world feels very natural and consistent.
Controls-wise, it's very clever. I have to admit it took me a while to realize I could put two hands on one rock at the jump tutorial, but that's probably just me. The game then got really interesting, but also very difficult (maybe a little too much at some places). I also like how you evolved on the gameplay by introducing new types of holds. I reached the part with slippery green holds and then I had to finish playing as it got late, but I definitely enjoyed it until then.
Also, the ambient sounds were really good (and creepy). I wish they happened more often to add to the atmosphere.
Visual style is top tier! I struggled a little with aiming jumps, but I loved the sense of progression that you all built into the game! Really impressive game design, planning, and execution. Great work!
Amazing work! I played in normal mode. I think I reached the final rock? Not sure. The climax and the final climb were extremely challenging in comparison to the rest, but I really wanted to make it to the end. This a great interpretation of the theme, and a great execution on all aspects.
Hope to see more from you all in the future!
Cave divers after finding a cave called the ass crack of satan and the survival chance is 0%
Jokes aside, this one went into my favs list for GWJ 81 immediately 😄
So great, had an absolute blast playing this. Super moody, the art was fantastic, and I actually was able to master the jumping around pretty well. I did fail when getting the "the end??", but everything before that was absolutely incredible. Definitely one of my faves of the jam so far.
I saw the posts in the in--progress channel on discord and was like 'whaaat' someone is making white knuckle for gwj?? I loved the atmosphere, a lot of the section were very fun to play, with a few being very frustrating. I def think you should implement an input buffer so if you click a few frames too early, sometimes I really felt like I clicked on the rock but it didn't register. But this could just be a skill issue. Really good entry for the jam, I wish I could get to the end lol!!
This was really neat. I really enjoyed the visual style, audio, and general concept. I unfortunately didn’t make it all the way through as I had trouble with some of the jumps and kept having to redo the section. That was a little frustrating, but I still had fun with it.
Great job!
Such a cool game. Very moody, I really felt lonely and kinda scared in the deep dark caves! It was great with checkpoints, since I kept dying to stupid overconfident jumps xD
Scary but lovely game, great job!
I was looking forward to this. I really like the graphics. Sometimes it's confusing where to go next, but overall the game is great!
P.S. found godot plushie, nice easter egg xD
I am definitely not a climber XD it took me 10+ tries to complete the tutorial jump. Had fun playing until I feel for death for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the check point but the performance plummeted and I couldn't play after that.
Overall one of the best submissions for sure!
That's a great concept both for a rage game and a VR game. Accessibility was kind of an issue - on one end I can remap controls but on the other hand I'm basically choosing which of my hands will develop carpel tunnel syndrome as I found myself desperately pressing the buttons trying to grab on those slimy rocks. Maybe a control scheme where I can hold the button and just aim the cursor and it will already grab? Anyway, what a fantastic entry and good luck on the jam, your entry definitely deserves it.
Really cool movement system. Wish it was a little brighter but I get the horror style environment needs some darkness. Good monster design, it's so much harder to climb under stress haha! Really enjoyed!
This is my first review of the jam and now the bar is high! This is excellent! Very challenging and sometimes unforgiving, but rewarding after you complete a section. Having to repeat certain jumps eventually led to some pretty quick runs where I felt like a climbing badass. The breakable rock level broke me, I couldn't get that jump off the second one. But I will be back to beat it.
My feedback would be make the grabbing mechanism a bit more forgiving. There were a lot of times it felt like I had the big circle on the cursor and clicked but still missed the grab.
I love the vibes here and the excellent and original interpretation of the theme. It did feel like an expedition! I also really love that little music/sound mood bit that comes in very randomly to spook you. The gamer in all of us is ready for this chill climbing exploration to turn into The Descent: The Game.
Great job all around!!!
Highly anticipated this one -- and it did NOT disappoint! I got really far and the gameplay loop was extremely satisfying. I think I need to improve my climbing though because it was a little difficult to jump to each rock hold. I think the hand detection could be slightly more tuned as it's hard to get spot on with the timing. Other than that though great work!
