  • The game felt really interesting and quite unique. However, the controls could have been better and more responsive. The innovation, effort, creativity, and pixel art were all very well done. On the other hand, the music and audio felt a bit lacking, and the theme was not fully incorporated apart from the inclusion of skeletons and a boss. Overall, it was a really nice game, and for that reason, I rated it 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazing game! The combat is the strongest point of the game, it feels very polished, if you plan to make a game in the future you should use this combat as a base because it has potential to be extended into something more unique. I love that you have a variety of summons with different attacks, it gives the fight a lot more depth.

Like other comments already said, the boss has too much health and the theme is not that present, it would've been great if the player got an upgrade after death, so you restart the fight but now you have a permanent boost for future fights, that way you would have a solid theme connection and you could play with stats like movement speed or attack power.

Overall the game looks very cohesive and very fun and polished combat system.

Nice game! Impressive work especially with the animations which made the game feel very responsive. I haven't beaten the boss as i'm writing (but i will try angain), i can appreciate an hard bossfigt but i think he has way too many HP.

That's the only criticism that comes to mind really, again good job!

Edit: Only now I saw that the characters and the animations are from an asset library, which is fine but i guess the complement didn't age very well.

Thank you very much!

The most time was spent in creating a good feel for the player while playing. Even though, as you mentioned, I didn't do the animations.

I can see that it feels like that he has too much hp. It's difficult to get that right, when you don't have new players playtesting it.
I might update the game later on.

Here's a video showing how I beat him:

Really cool art style and I loved the animations! I'm not sure how much the game tied into the "From the Dead" theme, aside from the fact that you die... a lot 😅. I liked the challenge though, and the game felt really well made. My only criticism would be the controls, which were a bit frustrating. I actually had to remap the keys using my keyboard settings to play properly.
Great job overall!

Thank you very much for playing and your comment! Appreciated and grateful, that you liked it.

The theme actually didn't unfold. I had to cut the story short because I ran out of time.
The Ferryman doesn't let you pass without a taler. Or if you beat him. If you don't, he'll send you back alive and says something like: "Go and get me my taler, then we can talk." A few moments later the player should respawn and responds a few jokes like, "well, I didn't see this bus coming, I guess! Thanks for letting me suffer a lot more!" And repeat with other stupid jokes.

At least there are some undead foes which are summoned from the dead.. :)

Mind you if I ask, what was the challenge with the controls?
