That was a very creative take on both the theme and wildcard. It also controls very well.
I had some issues with the levels being generated, where most of them the explorers were unable to climb and I didn't have to do anything until the flying ones started to pop up. Also if I was at the very edge of the screen, the web version prevents me from aiming as if the mouse leaves the game are the aim gets messed up.
But I know these are the game jam woes and this game is very fun and has potential. Congratulations.
We had so much fun with this one. So hectic, so many cool abilities, I could have played forever.
Thanks so much! We have some updates in the pipeline which should be live in the next few days! :)
When the helicopters started showing up, I had a lot of fun. It would've been interesting if the other enemies were a bit more threatening. It's funny, we had very similar mechanics in my previous GWJ game. I think yours do a good job with balance overall.
Well done!
Thanks for the feedback! I went to your profile and checked out Sisyphus' Revenge and I see what you mean!
I've been working on this project a bit more, but I can't submit any changes until the voting period ends. We're thinking of adding some more unit types, and we definitely need some more special units that are a lot more challenging. The build should be updated in a few days if you are ever interested in checking it out again!
Fun game!
I wish the enemies would climb the mountain without real physics involved - otherwise they mostly kept getting stuck at the bottom without me having to do anything at all.
Thank you! We have some units in mind that should make climbing a lot more dynamic, and the page will be updated at some point after the voting period if you are interested at all!
What a fun and whimsical game! Genuinely one of the most fun jam games I've ever played. I love how all the items could interact with each other - one time I accidentally zapped my own yeti off the mountain, and another I discovered a cool snow + tornado combo of icy frozen power! Great job, loved the pixel art as well, hats off to a well designed system ^^
Thank you so much for the kind feedback! I'm happy with how the art came together for this one, and we should have more combo-able items available in an upcoming update :)
YETI! Very fun and interesting way to do a tower defense. Very Peak, Very Panic.
YETI! Thank you!
I had genuinely fun playing the game. Loved how the were dispersed by the ligning and squashed by the rocks.
Snowman launcher was an amazing idea!
Thumbs up for also including a yeti in the game!
Thank you! You’ll have to give dpolk credit for the yeti
Very entertaining entry. Physics-based havoc is a great recipe and you cooked it so well. It seemed like the enemies on the left side could not climb the mountain. At some point I had more abilities than I could visualize on the screen. Sometimes it seemed to me that I clicked on certain options, but other ones were added to my bar. None of that hindered my experience. My favourite defensive technique is the flying yeti.
Great entry!
Thank you for the kind feedback! Glad to hear you got so far that my UI code broke :p
Eventually, I gave away the mountain. It's nice to share!
This was fun! Honestly my main complaint was that I couldn’t full-screen the game. I stopped not because I really intended to but because I accidentally clicked a bookmark in my browser when trying kill some of the flying enemies.
It also seemed like the sides of the mountain were too steep for the ground enemies, so it never really felt like they were much a threat.
Regardless, there was a lot to like here, good job!
We appreciate the feedback! I thought it would be interesting to do a 4:3 aspect ratio but in hindsight this limited the mountain options to some extent. I think if we expand this project further we’ll have to do a wider area or maybe a larger and scrollable mountain. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it! :)
I really liked the progression of it all! I thought the upgrades were really nicely fleshed out too. It all felt cohesive and I spent way longer than I'd like to admit playing this :) Charming art too!
I’m glad you found the art charming! I wanted to target a more lighthearted and goofy aesthetic for this game and I’m happy with the outcome. Thanks for your feedback!
wow really fun!
Thanks! :)
Best game I've played so far. Really fun nice job!
Glad you had fun, thanks!
Pretty fun bonking those guys around!
They’re very bonkable as is, but…that does honestly give me an idea for a special bonk effect, triggered if you drop a boulder from really high up directly onto an enemy…maybe in a future update? Thanks for the feedback and inspiration! :)
WOW, I really enjoyed this game. I also really liked the pacing for revealing new 'content' and the flying people were a fun suprise. The ability graphics and sound were also super crisp. Great job!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
