Love this! Feels nice, polished and I adore the style. Giving vampire survivors and OG Zelda vibes so nice repetitiveness but there's still an objective. Difficult but it never feels like its the games fault which (at least I find) hard to get right in a short time so well done!

Also I want a game boy that runs godot games now

I now have the head canon that your game and Berrylly is played by siblings sitting in the back of the car on the way home but one kid's handheld ran out of battery sooner. Very fun game, great visuals and sound, beautifully done.

Aww that's so sweet! We definitely were inspired by each other while making our games to pull experiences from each of our childhoods. I'm glad you liked the game!

I really liked the game boy feel of it with the art and gameplay presentation

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad the art resonated with the concept for you!

This one's definitely hard, but it's good for that. The game's enjoyable and the presentation decent (love the Easter egg!), but I wish the story could've been expanded on some, if that would even go well with the remaining five minutes of this car journey. The part that accompanies the bad ending also feels kinda rushed, so it would've been better to add the option to replace this with lives or a checkpoint system.

It would be cool to see something like this on the actual Game Boy, but I can see the flashlight effect being a little hard to do at a good framerate and resolution, even for experienced programmers. Still, I welcome any and all efforts. :)

Easily the most replayable game in the jam! With so many different combinations of items I wanted to play over and over again to test out all the builds and get a good time on the leaderboard, which is a super nice addition and the only one in the gamejam! Feels like a mix of The Binding of Isaac and Vampire Survivors which are both super addicting so it makes sense! I love how it uses the theme both inside the gameplay and "outside" in the car, it all feels super cohesive and I can tell you thought about every detail and how it would relate to the rest of the game.

The sprites are so so cute, my favourite is the ghost boss but I also really love Lumi's design. The polish is amazing, there's honestly nothing I could even suggest you could improve. Super well done you should be so proud!!
