Eventually the game slows down because of Glorp count, and that's fine because it's a jam game. Since your planing to work on it post jam, an easy solution is to cap glorps at reasonable number and have buildings that upgrade glorps or gives them tools.
One of the biggest problems currently is that the pathfinding is very expensive. Optimizing that should raise the cap quite a bit. I also wanted to add some more bottlenecks/prerequisites for spawning them in the first place, e.g. needing to generate electricity or food or meeting other requirements.
You could do solar panels for electricity, or there could be oil.
Part of the reason the uranium exists is for nuclear reactors, but solar panels are also a possibility. Oil wouldn't really make sense in space since it's a byproduct of living organisms and geology.
Great graphic and sounds! I think you could add more buildings to make the game even better.
Great starter! I really enjoyed destroying the landmass, although two buildings are a bit less but it feels good. You should definitely expand on this! GREAT WORK!! :D
This turned out great!! I've always liked the rimworld style management games, you should keep working on this!
A follow up because I've continued running this game because I really enjoy it- at around 350 Glorps the audio system is lagging out. This definitely isn't a criticism of the game, I think having busted audio is genuinely adding to the experience for me in a positive way. This is a very good game
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Always a good sign if people want to keep playing it! Optimization will be my first priority going forward, but I want to keep developing this. I think with a few additions to flesh it out, it could be a pretty solid little game
If you need any help playtesting I'm in the minijam discord under the same username- feel free to dm me!
Very great game ! I had fun playing it, i think it's a bit slow, and you dont really get a purpose (i dont think there are more than 2 buildings ? ) But this is a very solid base for a bigger game !
Yeah, I didn't have time to implement the story/end goal I had in mind, so right now I guess the goal is just to hollow out the whole rock or make as many glorps as possible. In the future, my plan is to have the player crash-land on the asteroid and use the glorps to collect resources to fix and refuel their spaceship.
