Haha, what a fun story! I Love the overall theme, very reminiscent of Doom!! The shooting felt a bit counterintuitive at times though, needing to first move to the direction and then being able to shoot, was there a specific reason for this mechanic?
Either way, loved it. Well done!!
the shooting direction is oriented on the movement-direction
I really liked it! I never got to play this kind of game before, so when I come across them in jams like this, I try to get the most out of the experience. The music was a 100/10, and I really enjoyed the gameplay concept. It would be nice if you could teach the player’s position by starting the camera close to them and then quickly zooming out — that way the player knows where they are right away. Other than that, well done!
thank you!
I love the rpg maker look!
Visually it was hard for me to find the player everytime I teleported.
Softlocked myself once by dying and respawning in the top left which wasn't part of the level lol.
Overall, nice job! :)
Loved the music and the graphs! Its a bit hard to detect your character when you portal out but its okay! Great afford!!
thank you! the graphics and music are from opengameart.org
The game is quite complex and unusual, I liked it.
Thx!
I like this one! The lack of sound effects made it extra hard to find my character at first because I couldn't tell if my buttons were moving me or not! I like the retro style, and it didn't overstay its welcome. Got married too, for free?
thank you for playing!
The game's a bit hard to follow sometimes, as there's no indicator where your player is. If you ever revisit the concept, maybe having the level black out and show the player moving to the new location could work.
But the STYLE is AWESOME. Going for a C64 look with such banging tunes makes the game feel really cool, and the actual dungeon-crawling is fun too. I'm a sucker for tile-based movement.
under the screen is shown, in which level you are. there are only 4 levels
I love C64, too. I got one 1987, it was my first computer
