Your game has a lot of potential ! I think it is a little too difficult tho, and the input could be rethink to be smoother ! Cute game ! Could be really good with a little bit of polish !

I think there was a nice idea here and the theme is well integrated. I just feel like such twitchy and fast movement doesn’t really belong in a precision platformer. Where you need to dodge spikes you need to be able to control you movement. With a little polish you could have a nice on your hands!

One tip for the portal gun. You can easily walk off edges due to needing to hold right and down for a diagonally down placement and once you place it, you immediately walk off the edge into spikes (2nd level of ex with the saw drop before door). If the placement was “toggle based”, meaning once I press down and release the button, the portal position should stay the same until i press a button again. That way you have much easier control over where it is and you don’t have to frame time letting go of buttons or slam other direction to not die.

Music was okay, but waaaay to loud on normal sound levels. Screen transition after death is a slight epilepsy warning in itself.

really fun and well executed!

thank you!

I cleared! It was difficult, but I enjoyed it a lot. The maps are designed very well. Nice work!

Thanks! I hate to beg, but if you haven't please rate my game for the jam!

Definitely too hard for me. Had trouble with the first level, gave up on the second.

what stumped you on the 2nd one? Those ones weren’t very hard.

I got to a level that isn t on the screenshot but I am so sorry I couldn t do it, my mental is to weak and I am clearly not into platformer. The positionning of the portal needing a kind of pixel perfect is really hard and even more with so many way to die... Good Job anyway it was fun and a good tryhard/raging games likes some peoples says!

hey! I made it so the easier levels were first and by pressing E, you can skip a level and with Q you can go back. If you're willing to try again/ rate it again that would be great because it isn't be as hard and frustrating early as it was before.

Oh I don t think I would start it again but I used that to look where I was and that s was the last one ! How are we supposed to pass that? by rapidity ?

Developer

for the last one, try just move to the right of where you teleport and you can sneak in between the circle saw and the spikes. its definitely too difficult but can be done in a couple of minutes of attempts. Thanks for playing my game!

Really interesting idea !

As other said, it is too hard. I was stuck on the second level even with a cheese where you can tp upward saving one hard jump. The spike hitbox is also too punishing and moving the player is hard on small distance.

It could have been cool to add something to play levels even if you did not succeed the previous one (to see more of your work).

Nevertheless, good job !

(the bullshit hitboxes are still there but it wont be a big problem till later on)

A really cool idea, but the difficulty could use adjusting! I think it would be helpful if the player moved more slowly. It was really easy to just barely press a direction and still walk too far into spikes. Right now it serves pretty well as a rage game though! I really loved the puzzling concept, and the art is simplistic but charming. I do wish there was a noise when you die, though. But the little death transition rainbow effect was awesome.

yeah I did definitely make it really hard mostly because I thought it would be too short otherwise and make it more interesting. Thanks for the feedback!

(The player does move the same speed though, but this won't be as much of a problem due to the fact that the first few levels don't spam spikes as much)

I think you have mix up levels because the first level is too hard (I'm not telling about tutorial) but anyway it is well done.

Developer

yeah I made that too hard lol. Thanks for the feedback though (I underestimate the difficulty because I playtested it so much so I got better at it)

Quite fun and unique, but I couldn't teleport out of the second spike pit, the one where you aim upwards, I always was a bit short.

Developer

did you jump out? you're supposed to jump out right awaybut it was definitely too complicated for the first level

Developer

thanks for playing though!
