how is that 60 minutes?

Host (1 edit)

Sorry for the late reply! I made it long so people could have time to submit their submissions that joined late. So if they join 2 days in, they will still have time to make their game in 60 minutes. A lot of other jams do this too. Hope that answers your question!

Thanks for the answer! But how do you make sure, that people actually make their games in 60 minutes and not 2 or 3 days?

Host

I can check by when the assets were made, etc. Also you are supposed to state how long it took you. And you can still enter the game jam if it takes you longer. Just the game won't be on the hall of fame if it wins.

thank you for the generous time limit! in my place, when the jam starts the times are very late at night (11pm). I'll be sure to record myself while I'm creating the game.

My question is though, can we plan the idea of our game before the gamejam starts? you've already shown the possible themes and it's only 2 of them

Yes you can plan the idea before the jam! And by the way there are 3 themes that can happen. It's just the third one was at the bottom by mistake. I'm really sorry for that. I'll fix it! I'm looking forward to seeing the recording and what you create!

do creating assets also go towards your 60 minutes?

Host

Yes, but you are allowed to use pre-made assets.

Am I able to work in a team?

Host

Yes! Any team sizes are allowed!

You already mentioned that premade assets are allowed, so what about reusing stuff from other projects? Game code, shaders, SFX and such?

Host

You can reuse SFX shaders but not game code.

I see, thank you for the swift answer.
