Nick has a beautiful head of hair but OH NO the nits attack... Use your brush to kill the nits and stop his hair from overflowing with insects.

You came and conquered my Bucky, and now i've  come for your Nick  but instead of a war, I ended up giving him the best hairstyle of his life. Loved it!

Developer(+1)

Tysm for that comment! I'm sure nick is thankful for the new cut!

the art is so good in this game. also the gameplay is very easy to understand

Developer

TY! So glad  you love the art. I also loved your game!! Great high score btw!!!!

Real cool animation! Give off the nostalgiac flash game vibe haha
overall a fun and addictive game! :D ♡
However, it's a little hard to see the timer as  it overlaps when it gets harder
I got to 2000-ish and can't see most of it haha

Developer(+1)

aha I'm glad you had fun, the idea is that the nits become overwhelming as the game ramps up but I think I may have taken that somewhat too far. Thank you for the review !! :D

Submitted

I had similar issues to other people in the reviews but I enjoyed the idea and the game play

Developer

I'm so  glad you enjoyed the game, sorry about the scaling issue!

On the "how to play" screen, the buttons are placed over the text, which made it hard for me to read.

When the game starts, the drawing suddenly feels offset from the brush compared to how it worked in the tutorial. I'm not sure if that's intentional?

But! Enough criticism — the game is really fun to play overall. I love the animations of the Nits, and the overall art style is super fun.
Very nicely made and definitely entertaining.

Developer

Apologies, there seems to be some issues with scaling on different devices. I hope it didn't impact the gameplay too much. Thank you, i also love your projects art!!

I really liked your game  the idea was fun and creative! It gave me a vibe similar to the cartoon Oggy and the Cockroaches, which made it even more enjoyable 😄 I scored 500 points
Just a small note: I had an issue with the UI being too big for my monitor. I think it’s a common problem, and it’s easy to fix. If you’re using Godot, you can probably adjust it in the CanvasItem settings under stretch or scaling options. Keep it up!

I appreciate the tip, I cant believe I let such a simple thing slip while testing. Anyway thanks for the review, just played  your game and had a blast! good luck!

This looks cool! The style really reminds me of Flash animations, and the sounds fit the cartoon vibe perfectly. The gameplay kept me on edge.

Developer

Thank you! loved your submission too!

This is awesome! It has a really distinct style reminiscent of flipaclip and old flash animations. As well the sounds and music, definitely suit the cartoonish vibe of the game. The gameplay had me constantly stressing about which bugs were about to bite me, and which one's were more worth my time. Overall an amazing game! I think the only improvements I would suggest is to change the way the nits timer is represented, since them overlapping made it hard sometimes to tell at a glance what timer belonged to which nit (Maybe instead you could have their circles coloured to show how close they are to biting you; green to yellow to red). The only other major issue was that the scaling was a bit off, perhaps due to discrepancies between my display and the display the game was designed on:

However the game was still very playable and I had a blast! Amazing job!

I really love that idea! that would completely solve any overlapping issues you may face. Sorry about the scaling problems, the game passed testing on different devices as very similar monitors were used. Absolutely loved your game BTW 👍

I like the way you implemented the theme a lot, very interesting! The game is super chill and the (adorable) cartoonish nits + background music really add to that. The drawing mechanic is also super cool and I haven't come across a game that uses it before this I think. Although for some reason the game has trouble detecting the lightning drawing sometimes (then again, that's probably just because I don't know how to draw well lmao). Really interesting game, well done!

That's all, have a great (and nit free) day!

Developer

Thank you, I really appreciate that. The gesture recognition system I made allowed me to tweak the tolerance for spells like lightning and I think I may have made it a little too unforgiving sorry 😭. I absolutely loved your game, do you have anymore projects I can check out with similar humour?

Submitted(+1)

Ohh I see, well it's fine, the harder lightning tolerance makes it all the more satisfying seeing it be successful and wipe the entire screen lol! I'm also glad to hear you enjoyed my game but I'm sorry to say I don't really have any other games in the similar style of humor and/or gameplay. My previous games were mostly just horror-ish type of games. The closest thing I have is "Who Broke It?" but that was like 2 years ago and lowk sucks 💀. Anyways, have a great (and nit free (again)) day! :D

Developer

Please create more stuff, id love to play more!
