In our evaluations, one of our judges had issues trying to play the game with a controller. They were unable to jump but were able to climb which bugged out the game. We also found pressing up right after the opening cutscene put the player into a bugged state where they will climb up and be able to move on the X axis in the air.
Thank you so much for taking the time to play and evaluate the game!
I really appreciate you pointing this out — I wasn’t able to test the controller input thoroughly before the deadline, so it’s very helpful to hear about these issues. The climbing/jump bug and the post-cutscene state definitely sound like things I’ll need to patch properly in future updates.
Thanks again for the feedback! I’ll make sure to prioritize stability and better input handling moving forward 🙏
Wanted to play all the platformer style games first!
Thought the concept and the visuals of your game were gorgeous! The music also really sets a very dream like yet adventurous ambiance.
I did find the controls to be a bit clunky for some of those tight platforms! (I’m an experienced platform player and I struggled to make that first jump) I think with some fine tuning (and a much more liberal due date) you can definitely create something super enjoyable.
Props on the character design and the overall smoothness of the interface! I love your mascot and honestly the story does hit close to home.
Props good lad! Great work :)
Thanks a lot! I'm really glad you enjoyed the concept, visuals, — those were the parts I focused on the most to build that dreamy yet slightly emotional vibe 🥹
Totally agree with you about the controls. I definitely felt they needed more polish, but with the game jam time limit, I just couldn’t fine-tune the movement as much as I wanted 😅 Hopefully I can revisit it soon and make it feel much smoother (and maybe add a few more features too).
Super happy you liked the character design and the interface! Rori (the character) is going to show up in a lot more of my future projects, so it means a lot that he left an impression 😄
Thanks again for playing and leaving such an honest and encouraging comment — really appreciate it! 🙏✨
absolutely, I had seen your comment about the wanting to continue to fully develop the title, so definitely go for it. Swapping between older and younger is such a good concept. Keep it up.
