The concept is neat and the gameplay very smooth ! I think a more compact level design would really seal the deal ! Good game for a Jam !
Thank you!!
The game design is very interesting, it's a good idea.
Thank you!
This is neat! The digital wireframe neon aesthetic looks great and cohesive, and the music was groovy!
I like the idea of adding some hostiles to a Portal-style first person test chamber, and it was awesome to discover how polarity interacts with enemies. This was a really cool take on the theme, and it really seems like you went out of your way to make something unique.
I do wish the levels were a little more compact - you need to walk a LONG way just to find the locations of the enemies, blocks, pressure pads and doors. It felt like I was spending more time in transit than I was actually solving puzzles.
Thank you for the feedback! Super glad you enjoyed the vibe. We had a ton of fun with blending the music with the map, and Karl Casey at White Bat Audio does not miss :). Portal definitely helped inspire us for this game. Totally hear you on the level size. We got a little too ambitious early on when we were designing the mazes, and quickly discovered how fast a week comes up. There were actually some mazes that I had built that we had to completely skip for this jam because of that. In future releases, we plan on adding more intermediate levels and adding more puzzles and other environment mechanics to make the game feel less empty. We may even add chunk-based world generation to make the game infinitely replayable :)
Really really appreciate you playing and taking the time to leave such thoughtful feedback!
Needs download to play, don't like it.
Yeah sorry about that, we tried to make a web build of the game. But there are Godot mechanics that we used to build the game that aren't compatible with web.
Great atmosphere, but I think I soft locked myself on about the third level - when you die, you come back with 0 health and enemies stay in the same position, meaning that once they were blocking my route I couldn't get them to unblock my route.
We’re all thrilled you liked the atmosphere! we settled on the synth neon early. We’re hearing the comments and working on a hot-fix patch for the major issues so everyone can play a less soft-locking build after they play the jam version 😅
Another thought is to take a look at the game 'Magnetic: Cage Closed' as a comparison, as it has a very similar core mechanic, to see what you want to do differently (or the same).
Thanks! I'll take a look, we actually haven't heard of that game. Most of our inspiration came from Portal :). Thanks!
Just pushed a hotfix to address this. Thank you!! :)
I suggest you edit your game description to explain about the hot fix.
