I really enjoyed the puzzles in this game as well as the general vibe. The second level in particular was pretty fun! I do wish that things would happen upon my first interaction with them, however. I spent like five minutes running around the first level stuck because when I first interacted with the oar, nothing happened. It was only when I eventually decided to go back and try again that I picked it up and everything fell into place shortly after that. Once I realized I typically had to be persistent with interactions it was smooth sailing and overall a really pleasant experience!

Thanks for the feedback! I understand the frustration of just roaming around not knowing what to do, maybe I should have made that clearer in the instructions. Glad you still enjoyed the game tho!

A fun little game, I like the art style a lot and the game play.  Maybe movement could be tightened up a little though, seems a bit floaty.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah I agree, the movement can be a little buggy at times.

Fun visuals and managed to balance simultaneously a calm but exciting tone.

I'm a sucker for isometric platformers which is why its so important to have that shadow underneath the player showing where they would land when in the sky, and a fairly glaring omission when its not there. This is remedied with the countdown giving the player enough time to get to safety, but the drop-shadow is still a very important quality of life feature to have.

Its a testament to its quality that despite the omission it is still a very  enjoyable game. All of the basics are very solid its just the subtleties that could use a pass through, a statement that can always be said about almost every piece of art.

Developer

Thanks for the insight! This is my first time making an isometric game so I'm glad the visuals are appealing, and I appreciate the feedback! I think the shadow makes a lot of sense and I'll keep that in mind when making another game with this style. I'm glad it was still enjoyable!

This game was really interesting, I liked the movement a lot actually, I think the jump was really nice, but it did get me stuck sometimes.

The puzzles were interesting and it was fun to figure out the solution.

The graphics were really nice, I think the characters were really nice and the characters animations were really nice.

Thank you! Yeah the jump animation sometimes bugs out and I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out so I just moved on from it, maybe I should go back and try to fix it tho. But glad you enjoyed!

The game operates well as a puzzle game. It's simple but the hints derived from the dialogue and narration make you feel really smart when you figure out what they reference. My biggest issue with the game is the incorporation of the limitation. All of the modifiers feel like they belong in a more fast-paced game and are, at best, inconsequential to the gameplay or, at worst, frustrating and unnecessary. I do love the art style a lot; the iso-ortho perspective and claylike figures makes for a really pleasant play area.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think the issue you bring up is fair, I think maybe if there was some more variety in rules rather than just the 4 it would make for a more interesting experience.

Really cool concept, and I loved how you used the limitation

Thank you!

I like the concept, but it feels very incomplete with only two levels. The limitations do provide some replay value, but sometimes they're more frustrating than fun to play around. I'm mainly referring to the ground removing one, which I feel should happen at regular intervals or at least have some sort of cooldown. I once got stuck standing on the same platform for a while because the ground removal thing triggered three times in a row, which wasn't the best feeling lol. Other than that the limitations felt like interesting challenges, and I had fun playing around them.

The art and music is nice, and the puzzles are pretty good if not a little basic. Some sound effects would've been great as well, but that doesn't take away too much. Overall I still enjoyed it as a short and simple game :)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I initially did have bigger plans for this game and hoped to have at least 4 or 5 levels done, however something came up in the middle of the jam so I couldn't. Regardless I wanted to still finish at least what I could as this is my first time working with Unity3D. But yeah I totally get the frustration of some of these rules. Still some bugs that need to be ironed out, but hopefully for the next jam I'll be better prepared!
