Interesting story and attempt at the limitation. I got stuck after a while because I didn't know what to do at one of the doors, and there was a bug of some kind where the music stopped completely after I defeated one of the enemies.
The art for the ground tiles are a little jarring and could use a little less detail but on the flip side the player and character art were very cute. Nice job!
I got transormed. I got lied to. I ate LEAF. I turned into a frog. I got afraid of humans. Then I lost myself :O
The game is cool, love that there is a story that unravels, I really felt like a lost child :)) The music loop is intense tho, maybe too intense for my little brain And I lost myself when the guards arrived :(( (But that happens to me all the time in video games)
The story seemed interesting, and the visuals are cool. I think I encountered some kind of bug. After eating the leaf and moving to the upper location, I kept getting thrown back to the very first area of the game. Couldn't progress further. Also, the music loop feels too short to me, the melody literally got stuck in my head.
walk left.
Love the retro feel for this. The music wasn't amazing but I could appreciate the pixel art. There were also a lot of typos and misspelled words. I also wouldn't say it was the best implementation of unpredictable rules, but it was a good effort! I was also teleported to the start like the previous commentor mentioned which kind of confused me.
Thanks for playing. I didn't have much time so all of the sound was done on the last day. On top of that I've never been good with music so I knew most players wouldn't love it. As for the typos, the way the cutscenes work there's no easy way to use spell check and without it I'm completely lost.
Game was interesting! Honestly there was a lot of dialogue so I ended up not really getting a lot of the limitation; did run into a couple bugs before I could finish sadly. The first platforming section warps you back to the start if you go right; and then after I turned into *spoiler* after the paper the game softlocked when I used the cave? to into the fox character again. Good concept, sort of just have to figure it out as you go along.
It didn't soft lock that's the end of the game. I probably should have included a message saying that or something though. And I did just check the project and your right about transporter in the platforming section having the wrong scene path. Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed it.
Ah roger that! I was very confused haha. I thought it was actually gonna end after that cutscene, so when I walked around a bit and turned back I thought I messed up!
I like the limited greyscale colors!
It's the Gameboys color pallet. Only four colors total. And only three colors for sprites with transparency. It was pretty hard to get looking good. I would've liked to make a filter to add in the Gameboy green as an option but I didn't have time.
I like the idea of the guiding character trying to trick you!
