What a cool game!
That fake-god-totem-guy's expressions immediately reminded me of Pizza Tower lol
I really enjoyed the game. I got the secret ending the first two times I played it. It was actually easier to get those pieces than the coins, and then when I played it again I found out that there's actually more stuff to gather than the coins and I just gave up lmao
The only problem I had with the game was that the player character controlled weirdly sometimes and I was getting stuck on some things and couldn't enter the buildings sometimes because of that. Other than that it was really fun!
Starts the game: "This seems pretty charming! Some cool dude's asking me to do stuff."
Talks to the first person I see: "...oh"
It's simple, but man do I love it. Good work
At first I pondered about capitalism on this beautiful island. Then I pondered about all these coin-looking fruits Then I pondered about the weird looking things I was collecting while the sound effect of big revelation was looping Then I defeated a god. What a day :D
Really thought the game was going full horror at some point, would have loved to see that :P
I really enjoyed it. The story about a fake god is hilarious, and the god character itself is pretty funny too. The ending with assembling the statue was interesting, though it felt slightly underwhelming. I kinda wanted that god on the right to literally burst out of the UI with some silly sound effect. Movement feels a bit off though - like your character keeps snagging on things and slowing down randomly.
My favorite part of the game is the facial expressions of the fake god. Also I somehow forgot I could hold shift to run until the second time I lost. -_-
Also also if you talk to a NPC and then collect a ???, then there will be no coin counter and the ??? counter will always say 0/4.
"???" refers to the 4 artifacts needed for the good ending
I really enjoyed the art! Got the secret ending with 10 seconds left on the clock :). I'm a bit unsure on why I have an inventory though.
Having done 3D projects in the past for jams, I know this was definitely way more work than one would think! Great job on building everything, the facial poses for the moai included. Love the humor.
really cool environment and music, I also enjoyed the dialogue and subtle jokes. Gameplay was a bit boring for me tho and the timelimit seemed very short if you don't know exactly where the Items are. but all in all a fun game.
Loved the ambience of the island! Really impressive for a 7-day challenge!
Had a few odd technical issues but I loved the island vibes!
-Mouselook can leave window when not in fullscreen, and is constantly veering downwards if not in fullscreen.
-In fullscreen mode the God's UI is cut off on widescreen! I didn't actually realize he talks to you the whole game until I tried again on a smaller monitor.
As for the actual game, I quite like it! it felt a bit like walking around in an analouge horror game, though I feel like the facade could have come down a bit further into it. The idols live reaction is a neat element, though I thought it was odd the good ending is so much easier to get than obeying the Idols conditions of fetching all the objects within the time limit, I'm not actually sure it's possible (that might be the point lmao) Art direction is really on point and the music contributed a lot to the feel, really cool entry overall!
Holy polish! I created a 3D game for this jam too, so I know all the effort that went into this project! Overall great job! Couple things: was confused as to why there was a time limit in the first place and some of the movement felt a bit clunky on sloped terrain. To end on a high note though I loved the art direction and the style the game presented. Great job!
