Software used
Godot, Firealpaca, and Audacity.

Use of the limitation
The manual that determines the rules of how to defuse the bomb is unpredictable, constantly changing to gaslight you into thinking you made a mistake.

Cookies eaten
Only two cookies, but I also drank way more cans of Coke than I'd like to admit.

The game is well made! I think the voice over made it more engaging. It reminded me of the impossible quiz.

I won after the manual reached v2.0. I got confused at the start and thought the game had bugs. I only understood the idea after reading the use of the limitation. I think it would be good to add some sort of indicator or feedback to the player that the game is working as intended.

This was quite fun! At one point I encountered instructions that were not possible to follow (I think it said to cut a purple wire but there was not a purple wire) so I thought maybe the solution was to just wait out the bomb timer doing nothing. All the instructions said "defuse the panel" and not "defuse the bomb" and I thought "huh, why would I want to defuse the panel and not the bomb?" Turns out that was not the case and I appreciate the extra dialogue to acknowledge this mistake lmao. I did end up beating the game :)

This one took me back to the Newgrounds days. Which is a really good thing, mind you. The art, the concept, the voice acting, the comedy, literally everything screams that Newgrounds style. Keep it up!

This is the highest compliment I could've received, I love Newgrounds! I actually uploaded this game to Newgrounds as well lol. Tysm! :)

Your game is so unique and fun HAHA i kept replaying it for 4 times! i absolutely love it and i'm proud that i finished it hahaha

Developer

Tysm! Congrats on enduring through my absolute BS lol

The ending was very fitting haha. Fun game tho, I must say however the audio was being kinda weird whenever I tried opening the manual, like the narrator voice would kinda get choppy for a second. That could just be the web build being weird tho. Nice work :)

Developer

I'm pretty sure that's just lag, one of my friends ran into a similar issue when playtesting it. I thought it sounded kinda funny so I didn't bother fixing it but the download has less lag from my experience if it's an issue. Glad you liked the game tho!

Really enjoyed this one, great concept and execution with good writing as well. Kinda Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes meets The Stanley Parable, really clever. My favorite part was the secret ending when you find the serial number

Developer

Thank you! You'll need to send me a video of that secret ending tho, I don't remember coding that so it's either an anomaly or I blacked out at some point

I like it, the ultimate game of trial and error. Narrator was great too, very silly game :3

What can I say, I'm just a very silly guy :3 Glad you liked it!

Nice game! The graphics and audio were simple but charming, and I managed to finish the game after exploding and somehow coming back from the dead multiple times :).

If you ever plan to expand on the game, I would suggest having a manual like from "King of the bridge". It would be interesting because it makes every death "useful" by unlocking a new rule, rather than to feed a seemingly endless and gaslight-y book. (So gameplay is less linear)

Nonetheless, great game!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! Idk if I'll be expanding this but that's a good idea, I'll keep that in mind for sure

(I've actually never heard of King of the Bridge before this, it looks like a pretty cool game ngl lol)

This took me WAYYYY too long to figure out LOL. Your gaslighting tactic worked and made me restart the game twice before realising I just have to keep doing it wrong until it stops changing. Great job!

Developer

LMAO Tysm! I was kind of worried that people wouldn't pick up on the gaslighting part, so to hear you got through it in the end is great news to hear :)

i hear voices - fun game and great submission :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Don't worry, the voices are a part of the game, they're supposed to be there :)

The voice was my only friend and he left me :(

On a more serious note, I just finished the game and loved it. it got me enganged for a whole while, its a simple idea executed well. I actually tried morse code and solve an equation for this one lol! Like the addition of voice actin here

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I've also talked to that guy about his behaviour and he's now in a sensitivity training program, no need to worry
