Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
In medieval times, there was none more generous than the blacksmith. However blacksmiths in medieval times almost certainly charged for their work. Our game allows players to offer work for free if the player so chooses. These gifts will allow villagers and adventurers to rebuild after catastrophe or slay dragons that will help keep the village safe. The player must ensure that they can still run their shop while supporting the village after disaster.

Gorgeous game! Major props to whoever worked on the modeling, it's such an immersive setting! Adding different kinds of weather and times of day made working by the forge feel so cozy :) I did encounter crashes ("Fatal error!") every time my first customer left the delivery window, but I enjoyed learning the smithing process, balancing forge times and choosing what items to gift in the first few days. Also, the Creative Vision description mentions participating in the world outside the smithy through our business practices; it would have been cool to see how our deliveries were used, or maybe blurbs included with the orders that describe what the items would be used for. But! Crit aside, it's a beautiful simulator <3 Would love to see behind the scenes for the art and development! Great work!
Thank you so much for playing, and for the kind words! Sorry about the crash, we have a build that fixes it but can't update the jam version until voting is over
The general UI is clean and works well- a pleasant surprise. Though, the current written tutorial may be overwhelming when introduced all at once. Players may learn more effectively if there was a small walkthrough of the “forging” process instead, having them act out each step. Aside from this, the style looks quite polished and cohesive.
Thank you so much for playing, and for the feedback!
What a solid game! The art style was really phenomenal and I really loved the concept. I do wish there was a little more feedback when it came to completing tasks. Would love to see this expanded into a full game.
❤️ We may indeed continue developing the game — introducing more feedback for completed tasks is a great idea. Thanks for playing!
Very solid game jam project! Just from your itch.io page it looks like you guys put a lot of time and passion into this, and it shows! I enjoy the simple gameplay loop, the chat really helped me understand what to do. It did feel sometimes like everything was taking a lottt of time, but the mini-games helped with the pace. Visually pleasing, and I loved the hub concept even tough it sometimes felt small. I'm not sure that taking order and receiving money falls into the hearth of generosity, but you guys did a great job of selling the medieval fantasy. As a whole very polished and enjoyable, great job!!
Thank you very much for playing!
Truly a lovely cosy game! The aesthetic is really polished and so is the gameplay loop! I look forward to exploring the game more since it seems like there's quite a bit to do!
Thanks — glad you're enjoying the game!
Since I first saw this game on discord, i knew i had to play it! Right up my alley and very relaxing. I admit I wanted to wing it with the rules - just glanced in the general direction of the guide and then had my fun with it. The game did crash, but I'll give it another try! Thank you for your hard work!
Glad to hear you're enjoying the game — crossing my fingers your next playthrough is smooth!
My heart breaks a little every time I hear someone crashed ): I'm glad you enjoyed your time with it though! Thanks for playing :)
Story - Blue collar blacksmith doin' what blacksmiths do best: blacksmithing! Can't go wrong.
Mechanics - Really solid cozy resource management and crafting-style game. Personally, not really my kind of thing, but I see the appeal in this game and I can appreciate solid mechanics that work well together when I see them, so hats off to your team!
Theme - The generosity bit was played a little loose here. I wasn't exactly sure how to add extra goodies to the orders.
Audio/Visual - Visuals were stunning and definitely felt like a high-quality Unreal game. The music and sfx were on point and really helped me feel like I was in the thick of it. Some extra animations of working the bellows or quenching the swords would've been the chef's kiss, but game jam deadlines are bastards.
Overall - Super solid game with a tight core gameplay loop and some really beautiful visuals. This game is polished through and through and, aside from that pesky crash bug, feels just about ready for a Steam release! Amazing work!
Thanks so much for playing, and for leaving such thoughtful feedback!
Hello! There is a bug in this build where the game crashes if you deliver to a customer right before the hour changes. If you wait until the start of the hour to deliver to a customer, you should be able to avoid the crash. I've created a version that fixes this bug and have requested that the host accepts the new build.
Do the items in the delivery box get wiped on the new day? Was I supposed to keep them in the chest? :D
I got the crash unfortunately. Really like you incorporated all the steps of the forge. I think the customer arrive notifications need to be louder/more noticeable as I'm just relying on the game log for those.
Nice job though, gets a bit hectic!
Items should remain in the delivery basket through the next day. Those items are wiped from the basket upon customer pick-up. We intend to make the customer arrival clearer in an update. Thanks for playing the game!
Very cool and cozy game! Love the different mechanics and it reminds me of a more in-depth version of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's blacksmithing.
Thanks! Yes, KCD 2 also has some nice mechanics — it could be nice to elaborate on these QTEs further in a post-jam version.
wow, the production quality is super high. always love the crafting/smithing games.
Thank you!
Super fun and cozy! The tutorial information is long, but reading through it all really helped. Once I got the hang of making things, the flow of it became automatic. I love the art style and the overall vibe of the game. It fits the theme really well and it feels satisfying to finish making things. I also enjoy the mini game quick time events. The only drawback for me was that the game kept crashing shortly after delivering a few orders. It happened on 2 playthroughs on day Wednesday. It could be the specs I have, and I wish I could have made it to Sunday, but I really enjoyed playing your game for a couple of days in an hour :)
Glad to hear you enjoyed the game — we plan to resolve engine crashes post-jam. Thanks for checking it out!
Thank you for playing! Yes unfortunately we found out about the crashing after the jam deadline, it's really disappointing, but it's the nature of jams after all. I appreciate the feedback! Happy to hear someone actually read the guide haha
