A really beautiful and thoughtful game. The environments are lovely and I love the way the puzzles are left for the player to explore without explaining too much. I especially like the way the hint for the see-saw puzzle is presented, it encouraged me to pay closer attention to the environment after that. This game's controls, however, are doing it a major disservice. I was lucky enough to discover that pressing escape shows the controls, but nowhere on that menu does it mention that you must press F first before you're able to click on objects and interact with them. "Toggle Camera Freeze" is not a good description of that button's function. Couple that with the way that I could sometimes climb up a ledge in the first room just by clicking without pressing F first, and I had the initial impression that the interaction function was just broken, and nearly gave up on the game. I'm glad that I read some of these comments before moving on, I would have really missed out! That method of interaction did feel clumsy, and there were many times when I had to adjust the camera to get it in just the right spot so I could click on an interactable to drop whatever I was holding. I would say the awkward controls are the only major blemish on this otherwise wonderful experience, and I envy whoever gets to light the last torch and see what happens.

Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
KiBo is a project effort to create something that encourages players who don't know one another to engage in a generous, selfless act.
Throughout your travels through the monastery, it's your job to repair aspects of it that have fallen into disarray, assist with the clean-up process, and maintain the norms put forward by those that came before you.
It's the ending where generosity is at its most palpable. Players who reach the final area can pray, reducing a shared counter between all players. The more who pray, the brighter the light in the chamber becomes, and eventually, once the counter reaches zero - players that reach the end after-the-fact are allowed to enter the afterlife, while those that came before remain behind as stone guardians at the gate.

[LEFT CLICK] Interact with what you are pointing at
[F] Toggle Camera Freeze
[R] Pray

Darn it.. I'm fomoing hard for not being to experience this game with anyone else. I felt a bit lonely in this beautiful, poignant world. I loved every part of the presentation, and especially the praying animation. I can tell you guys put effort in it.
I'd also say pressing F for Focus Mode seems a bit intuitive. Maybe you could consider flashing the controls in the in-game UI at the beginning when players encounter their first peach, and / or change it to right mouse button too.
We definitely had plans to incorporate more conveyance for the controls, but due to time I didn't get that in unfortunately. I'm glad it still felt natural enough to play! One of my favorite aspects about KiBo is that you never know if you will go through the game alone or not. Also, with obstacles in your way, someone could be in the next room and you would never know! It feels a little less empty knowing that you are following in the footsteps of many players before you. We appreciate the comment! :)
NUMBAH 9 REPORTING IN 🫡🫡🫡
Very beautiful game with a poignant message and very nice visuals, especially given the small time constraint. Atmospheric music, and the character being able to manipulate the aspects of the environment is done in such a mesmerizing way, I loved swaying left and right while holding objects and seeing how the items jiggled and swayed in each hand. Absolutely amazing work! The Devs should be very proud.
The visuals are very pretty, I just wanted to explore the environment to take everything it. Others have already commented on the Legend of Zelda similarities and I fully agree! The gameplay was also pretty interesting, but I was having some issues with the mouse sensitivity, my camera was going crazy even at the lowest sensitivity. I wish I got to encounter other players, but it was still a fun experience nonetheless. Great work!
Hey! Thank you for the kind words! I believe I know why you also seemed to get 13-12. If you cannot connect to the server for any reason, we have a fallback "Singleplayer Mode" which loads in a set number of torches and statues. This allows anyone who cannot connect to the server for any reason, or simply does not want to connect to the server for any reason, the ability to play! If you'd like, you can play again to contribute to the online statue total. Sorry for the confusion and I'm glad you enjoyed! : )
p.s. The way to tell if you have loaded into the server is based on when you launch. If you are on a black screen for ~10 seconds, you failed to connect and were put in singleplayer. If you fade into the title screen in a shorter time than 10 seconds, you have connected and can experience the game with whoever is online!
Turns the number to #12, wish to see what happens when the number reaches 0. Overall the environment and character design are great, music are awesome, and I like the puzzles in the game. I believe you can improve 3Cs in your game because I see camera sometimes pass through the wall and character is moving a bit slow. Overall I think you did a great job!
Visual – the environment is coherent and the character design is weird but charming, reminds of no-face from spirited away.
I encountered someone at the very start, not sure whether a fellow player, but they def knew more than me. Thanks for their guidance.
My biggest complaint is about the controls, the movement is a bit sluggish, and using F then mouse to interact is quite unintuitive – I thought there is nothing to interact with at first.
Overall, cool game!
#13 Here, I was so close to holding hands in eternal prayer with someone lol
I'm in the light reaching out. This game was so cool. I loved these weird creatures and I would totally buy a stuffed animal of these things, they're so strange but so cool! Great game, I'm excited to see what happens after we unlock it for the other players.
Story - Mysterious and lovely! I really enjoyed exploring the world with a random buddy that happened to be wandering around when I logged it. It definitely gave me Journey vibes. I wish there was a simple way to communicated with the other player! A small chirp or some kind of vocal indicator that I could use to signal my buddy to something I discover.
Mechanics - Took me a hot second to figure out that I had to use F and THEN my mouse would be unlocked and able to interact with the world. I think just making a simple interact trigger would be much more intuitive for players. My buddy and I spent a good 15 minutes wandering around the apple area trying to figure out how to pick up the apples lol.
Theme - I didn't get a whole lot of generosity from it. Most of the time it felt like solving puzzles so we could advance deeper into the temple. But it was fun to do it with a friend!
Audio/Visual - That model was super cool and unique! I also really dug the music. Great job!
Overall - Definitely more fun with a friend, as you mentioned. I was lucky enough to encounter someone randomly and together we puzzled our way through. It was a really great experience being able to share the joys and frustrations with someone. Awesome job!
I'm so happy that you were able to experience the game with another player! I was worried that players would be too spread out to find anyone else. I really appreciate your in-depth feedback, thank you for that. I would have loved to incorporate some sort of communication, something like Half + Half that takes your mic input and turns it into nonsense would have been super fun to make.
