Relaxing, and I’m personally delighted to see the usage of these Chinese proverbs :D I thought you did well in getting the core gameplay out in the 3 days you had. Like the others said, story, puzzle mechanics, and feedback would greatly add to the experience.

It’d be satisfying to try and collect all the proverbs if there were a visual of the remaining needed to be unlocked. Nice jam!

Getting shapes and needing shapes were random so it was not really challenging or puzzling. The multiplayer mechanic being faked makes it so that the messages you send are kind of meaningless sadly. Some proverbs you receive were nice. Maybe with a better presentation and real multiplayer it could be an interesting concept similar to the game "kind words". You said you made this in 3 days, for such short duration, good job.

The little notes/sayings that came with the shapes were quite cute!

Got the hang of things fairly quicky, good job presenting the mechanics.

Story - While there wasn't much of a story here, I did enjoy the little proverbs that popped up. I really wish I could have written a few to send off! Or at least be given a list of proverbs to choose which ones to cast out into the world!

Mechanics - Pretty simple shape matching, but it works!

Theme - I think the theme would have been even more spot on if players were given the option to GIVE UP some shapes to others, casting them out to those in need. Right now it felt like there was a lot of receiving, but I didn't feel as though I was being all that generous with my plant building.

Audio/Visual - Very nice, zen music. The visuals were simple, but they worked.

Overall - A really nice, pleasant experience. Great job!

Hey, thanks for the detailed feedback!

If you drag your shape (the most bottom one) into the orb below the letters, you can pick a proverb to send with the shape to another player (well, right now the multiplayer is faked…). So your plants need shapes you get from others and you can send your shapes to help out others.

I guess that’s why an in-game tutorial or at least a how to play menu is needed. Will know for next time :)

OH COOL! I was wondering what those shapes were for. Yeah a little in game tutorial would be perfect. But you were working with pretty limited time, so it's all good. Definitely something to include if you plan to continue development!

I agree with nesobaka - simple and nice :D

I was sceptical at first but then it calmed me down and I enjoyed it - it made me think eventually.

Point of critique - I could not really make a connection between sending hears through the "lamp" and receiving letters. There was no meaningful feedback or so - then again, it felt the game was working perfectly without it :)

Well done mate!

Thanks for the feedback!

Dragging the the shape you collect from your plants to the orb (or “lamp”) lets you pick a proverb to send to another player.

Then you receive proverbs and other shapes from different players.

(Or at least if multiplayer was implemented – right now it is faked ’-_-).

Ah - cool that is a neat idea with the multiplayer!
