Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
In The Weaver, we wanted to challenge the assumption that progression must come from accumulation. At the start, the player is given a clear goal by a mysterious entity: collect every memory. It feels like a classic fetch quest.
But as the game unfolds, players are presented with a choice: follow the directive, or help others by giving up what they've gathered. This act of generosity reshapes the player's purpose. It transforms the game from one about obedience into one about resistance, compassion, and self-determined meaning.
Each act of generosity restores part of the world, while simultaneously denying the entity its full control. In giving freely, the player begins to weave something far greater than a task: a thread of connection, proving that generosity is not the loss of self, but the bridge between souls.

I didn't get time to play much but I love the little guy.... just a little guy... and then, more little guys!!! (simple yet cute designs can be so impactful for real for real)
The sound and visual design really made the atmosphere come together!
I like the premise of the game, trading memories around to help others who are struggling. The tank controls are a little awkward, and especially for the platforming sections. I like this style of puzzle, I saw something similar once in another game jam, in a game called Boolean Tangram. I did notice that it's possible to "lose" pieces, if you perfectly overlap two of the same shape they just become invisible with no indication of where they are on the board. I had a moment while I was rearranging pieces where I did just that without noticing, and was confused how I suddenly lost two small squares, lol. The art and character design is very cute, and I think the effect of having color only around characters or other sources of memories is a nice touch. I especially like the illustrations in the intro and ending cutscenes.
hey it's Chris (:
I love the premise of the Weaver very much! I like that you gave me the option to take away people's memories.
When I was forced to give the little girl a memory and launched into a puzzle, I proceeded to take away everyone's memories after. The soundtrack was very fitting for the theme too.
I tried my hardest to get past the island with the Astro Bot but was unable to - I'm not sure if I'm missing anything.
Great effort for 3 weeks!
I love the concept of giving the memories of life lessons to others who need them :o Sharing ideas that might help others find their way in life is part of the reason why I got into game development. Very cool expressive piece! And it is a cute game :)
Very pretty game! love the art style. The story is well written :) I like the idea of collecting memories and destributing them, reconstructing them. Beautiful. Only "complaint" for me is the controls are a little hard to get used to.
I feel very similarly to a lot of other players! I love the world. I think the writing is where this game truly shines. Especially when you choose to take memories. It's so tragic and feels genuinely sad. It makes the player feel like a bad person similarly to how killing in Undertale makes you feel. The sound effects were great. The music was super fitting and felt similarly to games like Unravel and Worldless. I wasn't the biggest fan of the character control and the platforming, with the camera lock and no shadow, was a little painful at times. I also think some animation would breathe even more life into the world and make the difference between memories and living creatures more clear. but besides those things, the game is truly a gem. I thought the puzzles were super unique too and at first I had a lot of fun with them. But I think the difficulty is a little inconsistent and I unfortunately had to spam hints for most of the puzzles. I think the game was really cute and I loved both endings. Letting the player choose between serving someone else and being left with no one as opposed to helping everyone and saving everyone was such a nice contrast and made both endings feel weighty. Really well done. Great game!
Quick bug I encountered, if you collect every single memory, you are unable to make the final jump to finish the game. I'm not sure if this was intended but if it was, making that clearer would be a big help.
Awesome job! The audio and visuals were very calming and atmospheric. I loved cute and simple world/character designs. The story and premise were also well executed and very fitting for the theme!
I will say I wasn't a huge fan of the tank controls and the static camera, especially for the platforming parts. It was a bit frustrating and took me out of the world, but not a huge deal in the grand scheme. If you add a moving camera and move the character relative to it, I think it would feel a lot smoother, but that's just my preference!
The puzzles were interesting! I like the concept, though it got a little repetitive toward the end. Good call adding the hint button, especially for a jam! Not sure how you guys are checking the puzzles, but I think I got this one in a different way than intended and it didn't solve (or maybe I'm blind , haha). I also think a reset button would be a good quality of life add.
But overall, really good job! Very cozy and well executed game.
Really like the game and the different interactions you've built. Some sort of movement on the player would've gone a long way, whether it be animations or even a trail. Really nice game though
Really enjoyed the music and the audio cues. The controls feel unintuitive at first, but I actually liked how it is unique and fits the character.
This was such a wonderful experience! I love the concept you've chosen for generosity, there's also this touch of combatting nihilism with hopefulness and it's a trope that I absolutely adore. The sound and music really contributed to the atmosphere and I enjoyed the puzzles too, very fitting. With more time to work on this I would love to dive deeper into this beautiful world you've created!
Thank you so much for such a detailed review! Really appreciate you for playing our game!
Gorgeous little game! Truly lovely experience! I love the mechanics and style and interaction! Really lovely play experience and everything!
Thank you so much!
This game is so quaint, I love how the world is in black and white with only a few pops of color from the player and some NPCs, I love when games do that sort of thing~ The only thing is that the controls were a little tricky to figure out, but that could just be a skill issue lol. Regardless, love the game and how you incorporated the theme!
Thank you so much for the feedback! Yes the colors were an aspect we really wanted to focus on and I'm really glad you liked it!
all i have to say is CUTE CUTE CUTEE
I love the visual design, it's so cute! The point of view is also really unique. I can tell you guys put a lot of work into this. Good job!
Thank you so much!
I LOVED this game!!! I would play a full version of this in a heartbeat, the story, the puzzle aspect, everything was incredible! I do wish that there was a moveable camera or the jumping between platforms was easier. If y'all continue to work on the game, I would suggest putting at least a shadow under the player so jumping would be easier. Great job! Incredible game!!
Also, I loved the two endings and how one ending keeps everything black but the good ending lets you see the world you helped to rebuild while you see the credits.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that you played both endings!
the game feels very polished, I can see that you have put a lot of work into it, good job!
just letting you know, the mac version can’t be opened on a m3 chip macbook. the win version works fine on a windows laptop.
Thanks for playing and letting us know!
Tank controls are an interesting choice considering the platforming bits. The puzzles were fun thought :)
Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!
