Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
In You Not Alone, the theme is one of emotional connection and invisible kindness. The game invites players to anonymously send and discover heartfelt messages, from jokes and reflections to deep confessions, like bottles adrift in a digital ocean. Each message is a reminder that someone, somewhere, understands. Likes spread encouragement, and dislikes help filter messages that might breach the safe space. The system creates a shared environment of empathy, support, and generosity without the pressure of real names, profiles, or judgment. It’s a peaceful experience about being there for strangers and knowing that someone is there for you, too.

It's a really nice idea and interesting integration of the theme.
I really enjoyed writing and reading some of the messages, though I wish there was other messages, I don't know if I have to wait for there to be more but I only kept reading the same messages.
Great job for the nice game.
I really like the idea. I kept seeing the same 3 messages though, were there just not enough in the pool or do old messages get deleted? I like it's up to the generosity of others to take the time to write meaningful messages, but it does definitely make it quite risky! Lovely submission
What an interesting idea! The system you set up here is really interesting. Well done, poeple are a little crazy and post some rather strange comments, glorious!
This was really cute! You did a great job with the post process to bring the visuals together. The messages in bottles remind me of Sky's floating messages.
I'm not always a fan of creating an account, so a guest option might have been nice, however I understand why it's needed.
Great job with the game!
Thank you very much, the login system was necessary because I imagined (and it really happened) that people would send spam messages with unpleasant messages, and I couldn't let that get out of control, but I hope you had fun, the more people playing the more dynamic the messages become, I hope you come back to the game to check your answers and plants.
Beautiful and cute
Thanks <3
Great concept of message in bottle, and environment is beautiful!
Thank you very much
I really adore everything about this game. The visuals are super bright but not overbearing. The ocean reflects the out of view sunset, the vegetation is green and vibrant, even the sand looks soft and cozy. I think for a game, especially one made by a solo dev, this is quite spectacular. I love how you flipped the theme back onto the players to be the ones facilitating the giving and receiving. It's such a genius choice and I haven't seen any other games do something quite like this. It's a really rare and wholesome moment of humans being able to share the human experience with others without any fear or association with their thoughts. Although that can quickly go south, I haven't seen any of that from this game which I am super happy about and pleasantly surprised. This is definitely one of my favorite games from this jam. I do however think it could benefit from more things to do on the island. The fishing minigame and hand pan playing is super cute but not the most engaging minigames possible. Again, I understand gamejam time constraints so take this critique with a grain of salt: because of how reliant this game is on people being active and actively sending and receiving messages, there's basically nothing to do when messages aren't being sent or exchanged. I also have only sent//received messages from the same people which, I do value being able to build rapport with these people, I think it would fit the vibe a lot better if you weren't guaranteed to hear back from the same people unless you directly reply to them which would make the interactions more meaningful imo. I also think the blur effect is a little intense and the fixed camera angle can be a little unfortunate sometime. But when people are sending messages and the game plays as intended, this is easily one of my favorite games from this jam and if you ever update it, I would be overjoyed. Incredible work!
Thank you very much, It was very difficult to balance between working and making the game, I only had time on the weekends, I had this thought in my head that the game needed more things, but I decided to push to make the game as rounded as possible, I've already made this mistake of trying to implement a lot of things and nothing turning out right, but I'll definitely add more content after the jam ends.
I'm excited to see the new content! And I completely understand! The game jam time limit comes for us all. Regardless, incredible entry!
Such a cute concept!! You really managed to channel the feeling of a cut cosy game! I would love to see what a more complete version of this game could be!
Thank you very much, I hope to release this game for PC and Mobile
Really love your concept! I really enjoyed seeing other people's messages, and some were incredibly heartwarming to read. It's comforting to know that out there, there are still other people even if you're feeling alone
Thank you very much for the feedback, I invite you to log into the game again to see if your messages have been answered, it's really cool
Cute visuals!
thanks
