Use of the limitation
We apply more rules for the player to follow as they progress on collecting stars, some rules are straight up changing the mechanic of the game, some are when the player takes damage if they disobey.

This was interesting! does the game have an ending? with the narrative structure of the messages I assumed after I collected enough stars that the section up the top would open but that never seemed to happen. At it's craziest I had the rules for uncapped speed, bouncy physics, can't stand up, double jump, 12 star rule changes and walls are lava which was definitely tough to control. Quite liked the art detail in sections, the big central statue is quite fun. Nice work getting this one done in time!
Thanks for your feedback! No the game does not have an ending and we actually scrapped the 2nd section due to time limits.
The art is weirdly cool!!! Love it!!!
I managed to get a whole 99 stars!
The rules are fun - they add to previous rules, but sometimes a rule change can remove them as well. The assets are super cool, and of course, meeting the chasing Staro was a fun twist. I do wish there was a star counter so I could know how many I had, and how many until the next goal.
Cool game! The rule switch ups were cool and I liked how the stars were scattered so it forced you to really explore the whole map. My main concerns were regarding the map itself, I couldn't tell what was the foreground and what was the background which left me trying to jump on things with no collision shape. Also, for the star boss thing, I thought it was a clever and "unpredictable rule", but I think it was lacking some sort of feedback when you get hit by it, like a hit flash, sound, or screen shake, something to let the player know they just lost some health. Overall though, pretty solid for a game jam game, you get pretty right to the point and have some clever connections to the theme.
Thanks for your feedback! This made me smile:)
Liked it well enough, though I didn't experience the chasing star or anything and I was liquefied seemingly out of the blue. Thought the gameplay was great but the polish was a bit rough around the edges; experienced a glitch on the "can't stand up" rule where I could stand up fine and didn't have to crouch.
Thank you for your feedback! We'll look into it.
I got 17 stars!
The chasing star was a genuine jump scare for me. I yelped!
Unfortunately, the speed boost was my demise.
Ha ha! Glad that you enjoyed the game, I left the star chase with no music as for it's funny.
