Pretty rough having all the action on the left hand. There's so many keys on my keyboard, it doesn't have to be Q.
I like this game though. It plays well, it's got tech though the ground pound and boosted attack didn't add much. Everything is pretty tiny it feels like.
Nice one! This reminds me a little of Conan on the Apple II (which actually I think was also ported to NES…). A very old-school class of platformer. :)
I liked the boss fights especially. Nice and orderly. They encourage the player to figure out the boss’s rhythm and exploit it. Real rewarding.
Thanks for sharing!
Ohh quite a nice surprise !! mechanics feels very NESsy, though the small size of sprites and style kind of reminds more of the previous comp generation (well there were games ported from there too) but enhanced for the NES!
it’s quite short and even someone like me managed to finish it!!
it’s always a please to serve a punk princess too
great job!!
It has a good vibe and good feel. The gameplay mechanics are farily good, aside from a button issue (see below).
Notes:
I really liked the wizard's jump, it was really good
I made a pina colada.
I sort of followed the development of this game as I played something like 3 versions through the week, it was fun seeing the evolution between versions. The final game is fun, it controls well and the plateforming parts as well as the different boss fights are all fun to go through and offer an appropriate difficulty for the jam. I like the look of the character and the game could probably be a NES game as well.
Good work!
I had issues with the controls on Keyboard and it definitely feels like a early nes game and plays like a solid platformer just some of the enemies were place in a way yes difficult but no memorable platforming thorns and damage boosting seemed like the best way to play and beat the game. Q key to shoot felt weird.
