Nice work! My only real complaints were the collision was weird, if I jumped while pressing into a surface I’d normally get stopped, and some of the one-way platforms didn’t let you go through at the ends and I would have liked gamepad support but overall it was charming and fun. The checkpointing was good, and the end bosses wasn’t too hard but did present a challenge. Definitely curious about the story, I definitely felt like the invader in this case.

Solid game. I enjoyed the art and sound effects. The music was very atmospheric.

I did not realize there was anywhere to go after the dash, so I guess I missed the boss. I went back, couldn't find anything and quit. The music got old after a while cause it was such a short loop. I also could only jump with the gun jump if I shot first, which felt weird.

Nice entry overall.

So some games will give you an ability and be like "you now have the soul dash, you may now dash through metal grates by pressing the right trigger". This game takes a more organic tutorial approach: "space to dash". Those blocks over there? Well, there isn't a lot else going on, so might as well give it a shot.

Jokes aside, this game surprised me. It's starting presentation and jank controls didn't gear me for the effective pacing and boss design. Good work!

I'm happy you enjoyed the boss.

I like the hand drawn art style, nice work on the layering. The tiling, particularly on the internal walls feels pretty bad though, and the fall through platforms feel like placeholder art.

I really like the jump shoot mechanic, that feels fun to time and you feel pretty mobile once you get the hang of it. It would be nice to have an indicator for bullet charge.

Feedback on the dash doesn't really make it feel like the kind of thing that would break walls, but since you had one right in front of where you pick up dash it makes sense to try it. Some sound effect or animation on breaking the wall would also be nice.

I almost exited the game before the boss fight since it was unclear what I was supposed to do, I hit e on a whim and it entered the boss fight. Unfortunately the original level music did not stop so I had both it and the boss music playing which was a bit annoying.

The progression is a bit linear but solid little game.

Laughed out loud at the gun sound effect as well as the grunts when he jumps or takes damage. Had fun shooting skeletons and enjoying the paper world feel of the game. Thank you!

Enjoyed the game! Thought the art style was fun. I liked the foreground and background elements! There were a few spots where I think you were tiling the art a little small and it might look better if you made the tiles bigger. The dash had a little bit of a tendency to not go in the direction I was intending near walls but it wasn't too bad. I like the spots where there were hazards on a cycle to get past. I felt a little lost a couple times but always managed to figure out where I was supposed to go relatively quickly. Good job!

Cool style! Nice work on the parallax too

Putting in the elbow grease for a jam trailer. Respect, man, respect. I'm a big fan of the layered hand drawn bits in the foreground. That was slick. Also gun jump is a fun time.

Those first spikes didn't register to me as danger because they were blocked by the foreground elements. I wasn't sure where to go after getting the dash.

Honestly, I had a lot more fun ruining skeleton days with my army of lead than I was expecting. Thanks for that!

This is where you can dash, and I'm happy you're enjoying the game.

Oooh. Is that wall breakable? I tried shooting it a couple times but it didn't seem to do anything.

This was fun! I think this was an ambitious art style to commit to but I love how everything looks. I found a few instances where my gun would seem to jam up and it wasn't clear why that was, but I enjoyed the game overall. Good work!
