I had to play the game twice to eventually understand that you need to jump under a platform then jump again to reach it, that's unintuitive (and that the left and right edges of a platform are solid doesn't help), and I guess that in the end it almost felt like finding a secret so it was fun by itself. ;)

Once I understood this (I wanted this shotgun! and it was worth it) I enjoyed my short time playing the game, with the right difficulty and a fun boss fight at the end. Very fun game, thanks for sharing!

I liked the music and the gameplay was good

This felt nothing like nes but not bad besides that

Neat little run-n-gun; wish the platforms were reachable, the player character jumps seem just low enough to miss landing on top.

Audio is pretty solid. Little bummer you cannot jump on the platforms (unless I havent done everything I could). Cool entry

You certainly succeeded with your technical highlights.  Not a bad job, indeed.

Notes:

• A lot of the platforms i could not jump to, making it a run & gun, more or less.
• Where did the boss at the end go?  Kinda... disappeared.
• No pause button?

I enjoyed the variety of being able to aim in different directions, however I felt it could do with a tutorial. I only knew how to do a regular jump and struggled to get on platforms. I absolutely love the menu music though. The music in general is great and the menu art is fabulous.

Groovy

Is an okay go at it for starting out. I beat both levels and the boss heh. Some of the physics and interactions maybe need to be tuned more. It also kinda lacks in the NES vibes part.
