The colors and art style are beautiful and the moves felt spunky and fun! got my butt beat a good couple of times but I had fun haha.
The NES-style atmosphere is captured really well. I really liked the sound and physics!
The graphics are amazing, unfortunately, it's too short. But still pretty fun. Good job!
A short retro game? Very short, indeed. Short does not mean bad, luckily, and this worked out fairly well!
Notes:
I loved the graphics, both in the game and in the cutscene, it really feels like those original NES cutscenes. The game controls just like it would on the console, although there are a few bugs with the attack. I would have liked to see more of this game, but the boss fight was a lot of fun. Great job!
At very least after the intro the game perfectly looks, sounds and controls like a NES game, you really nailed it. And it looks great too. Although I think the switch mechanic helps a bit I can't say I can do much better than bruteforcing my way to victory, which is sort of fine as I tend to enjoy bruteforcing anyway.
It would be cool to be able to skip the intro when you replay the game.
Very cool game.
Great art style, and you really created a vibe with this game with the art, back story, enemy, and background city that I liked a lot. The boss battle was very fun, with the bravado of the character and enemy animations adding a lot. I actually played it a few times -- the first time I jumped/dodged/attacked my way to the end. The second and third times, I worked on incorporating the switch-places mechanic. It's tricky to get the hang of that mechanic, but once I was able to deploy it and switch places to injure the enemy or avoid a rock ball, it felt very satisfying. I had fun with the game, nice work!
Nailed the NES feel and graphics. nice work
