A cool reimplementation in a neat package. The SFX are way louder than the music though.

Cool entry. I am soooo bad at those games... 55 score so far I wonder if I'm gonna beat that xD

Nice!  After I got the hang of it I got to 326 and saw the Princess float down -- fun to get a little reward like that after seeing my guy faceplant several times.  Love how it became a kind of percussion rhythm game where you had to read the music quickly.

This is a nice little puzzle game and waaay more fun than I was expecting.  My high score was 207, even with getting hit by a spike or two.

Notes:

  • Is there some sort of music playing in the background?  I can 'just' hear something, but I cannot make it out.
Developer

Yeah there is a song playing in the background, On the audio bus the song plays on, I had to hard code the gain value because it was so loud on my setup and I was being lazy. Will note for next time to add some sort of slider setting for audio to help accommodate everyone's setups.

The princess descended! I scored 367 points. It was all the more satisfying as 300 points seemed quite unreachable at first, and trying a few more times while typing this at this point I am still very far from consistently winning too, 300 was the perfect threshold for me and I had a lot of fun playing.

Dang, when you play these game, you reeeeally play them!

Ahah, I guess I've got too much free time (although ironically I probably won't be able to play games this week-end) but also taking on a challenge is half of the fun so spending more time on the games proposing one is all good to me.

I've yet to play yours, from reading the comments it seems you made a long one just like last year, I guess I'll start just now and see how it goes.

Yeah and sadly it needs a bug patch, though one of the game endings is playable from start to finish.

Anyway, keep being yourself and keep enjoying the games! :D

It's awesome you were able to get the princess animation to play. After playing and testing my game constantly, I kind of naturally was getting around 300 points before my hand started fatiguing, so I thought 300 was probably a good threshold.

Really fun concept here! I liked the different kind of blocks requiring different amounts of hits to mix up the gameplay as you're trying to speed your way to a high score. Thanks for making and sharing your game!

Developer

Yeah, to help learn game dev I thought to try remaking a simple mobile game called timberman. I added stronger blocks as a way to add challenge and to mess up the player's rhythm.

Well that got my heart rate up! lol Great game! simple to pick up and play but hard to master. I really like the speed of the game. Nice work!

Can't remember the audio but had fun mashing and reacting to the spikes

Developer

Damn I should have added an audio setting lol (╥﹏╥)

Ooo it's chop champs from Kirby kinda. But nah, this got its own rhythm and I think the multiple hit brick idea is good, mixes up the pace. Is a good small little arcade game.

High score of 186! Great work, I played more rounds of this than I expected to.

I enjoyed the speed of this game! it really tests your reflexes when you get a good rhythm going.
