Very interesting mechanics. Needed a small tutorial at the beginning and maybe a tooltip that says what the enemies do. But it’s ok, is simple enough to learn ingame

Cool game! reminds me of 'into the breach', but this feels like its got the potential for a rougelike version. interaction took some figuring out and could be polished up a little bit (ex: letting the player select a path for the whale to move in 3 spaces instead of individually moving each square, but I can see why it was like that technically), I'm not sure if there's an undo/redo system but I'd recommend making one for this sorta game to avoid frustration of 'oh I didn't see thats what'd happen'. Are the levels procedurally generated? The generation seems to be on-point, I think I only had 1 or 2 levels (out of like 20) which were unbeatable, but that was without any upgrades. the upgrades are really good design, made every level beatable and I'd love to see this expanded its a full fledged game!

i love all the different powerups and passive abilities, it makes the game become more interesting over time
