I really like the lore of this game! It kinda does itself a disservice opening with the classic "you mysteriously wake up in a dungeon", the game description is much more intriguing. I got stuck on that final level for a few minutes before I accepted there was absolutely no way to cheese it and saw the intended path

Nice little stealth-game you dropped there, congrats!

Great game! I wonder what Michael did... But the creepy footsteps that rush onto you made the game feel so good

Developer

Thank you! Propably in the near future we will add further explanation of what Michael really did.

Overall good and fun stealth game.

Would have liked more forgiving detection cones and footstep sound effects for the footsteps.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! We'll keep that in mind :>

Very sinister music, it really went well with the story.  As others have said, the text screens from death made dying actually enjoyable, which is pretty clever.  I'd maybe have the character automatically pick up the keys instead of having to press E. Although, it did add a bit more pressure, so maybe it's better to keep that in. Good game, congrats.

Thank you for the feedback! I am glad that you like the game!

I liked that you get lore when dying, makes dying a little less frustrating. Having said that the levels were a little too unforgiving. Good job on adjusting the light to walls! I couldn't figure that out in time for the jam lol.

Really liked the spooky vibe and loved the concept!
I think some levels there had a really small room for mistakes (and since when you are detected, it's instant loss, it can be a little frustrating). I loved the footsteps and their animation! Would love if they had some sound attached to it too!

But overall, super solid submission! Awesome work :)

Developer

Thanks! We will propably polish the game later and add all the missing sounds for, as you said, walking, and others like opening the door, picking up the items etc. When it comes to difficulty, it was intended to make the game a bit hard to make the player see the death screen with the bits of the story few times, but we could have made some of the levels way to hard, as for example the last level, but we migth adjust the difficulty in the future.

I loveee the mood of the game. The concept is really cool.

Really cool story. Mood and tone were handled pretty well. I can see the potential!

Pretty good game. I liked when you die you would get bits of the story.

Developer (3 edits)

I am so happy that you like the game! Thank you for appreciating those bits of the story, we thought that it would be a really cool idea and it's awesome to see that someone likes it!

Nice little story and game. I think you could do more with the sound, otherwise I really enjoyed playing and replaying.

If you have time, please also check out the game I worked on, thanks!

Developer

thanks! If we ever pursue this project, we definitely will! :]

And I will check your game once I'm at home again, so tomorrow or the day after :]

I LOVED it, the mood of it is ON POINT! the foot steps idea was GREAT! i really loved the pixel art work, and the mechanics overall worked very well, the only wierd thing i noticed is that PERSONALLY i felt that thw walking speed was a little bit too slow, i get the idea was to make like, you are trying not to make sounds and all, but still, i think the movement speed could be a little bit higher, but anyways, i loved it overall, keep up the good work! :D

thanks :]

I really liked the footprints idea

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We had some ideas where to connect it to a deeper lore, where the footprints are the actual people who forced the main character to do THE thing, as in as growing up, when someone is neglected or ignored (unseen you might even say), they grow to be more vicious and evil. It goes back to all the discussion whether the killer is the one who did the crime, or the environment that raised him. Hopefully, even tho the lore is more suggested than told, the dilemma was visible :)

cool, a bit buggy at times. Might need some polishing
