While the game might be without progression or point yet, a shoutout to my fellow composer for putting in the time to create a full OST for it. Keep working on this game, and I’m sure you’ll turn it into something great! Good luck guys!
it do be that way sometimes
(don't worry, though, we are committed to realizing the game as it was envisioned)
Impressive turned based combat system considering the time, you cant fight the last enemies though. After you kill the second to last enemy the last one will disappear, so you just have to flee instead of winning. The music is awesome! All around its pretty good!
Thanks! Coincidence (though probably not an improbable one) that our teams both made games with "echo" in the title.
And funnily enough we also considered implementing a Shrek-related easter egg...The combat music such a banger. The barebones are amazing, but yeah the game is broken and has no progression. But if you keep working on this i 100% would play it in a later dev stage
We plan to continue work on it, there's a fully written script that we still have to implement too. And our musician gave the OST a proper release!
Pleeeease update this after the jam, it looks so good!
Minor pet peeve on the resolution is a bit small, not sure if it can be fixed without a re-upload since it looks like scaling is disabled.
First off, huge kudos to the team for attempting an RPG with turn-based combat for a 9days jam! It could not have been easy on the programmers! There is a lot to like about this game, and it has the bones for a good RPG!
The art is immediately eye catching. I love that the starting menu has an overlay shader that recedes with the tide. The characters and enemy design are awesome (when I can see and appreciate them)! I particularly love the aesthetics of the dire wolves.
There were multiple tracks for different areas, and every single one is a banger. SFX goes well with the attacks launched.
Unfortunately. I wasn't able to see thru any combat sequence to its full potential. Enemies either disappeared midway thru the battle or after casting their attacks, and there was no way to end the battles despite attempting to target and hit their vacant spots (the text feedback still shows that hits were landing). Brightside, fleeing always works and I was able to progress the game by constantly fleeing to see more of the game world.
Commendable effort by the team!
Thanks for the kind words (maybe a little too kind lmao)
Unfortunately the team spent most of the jam time building systems but ran into the time limit when it came to implementing those systems. With just a little bit more time I think we would have something great, but everyone did their best regardless.
