Cool game and very fun! I really liked the simplicity and overall look. I did struggle quite a bit with the controls though resetting the default direction to go backwards every time felt bad and the arrow keys didn't control the direction how I expected. A bit more warning on where enemies are would be good often times I'd hit a node and see an enemy one node away that I hadn't realised was there and have no option to try and escape. Asides from that this was really cool, just needs a bit of polish!
Nice game and concept! The width of the viewport being so limited meant that sometimes I felt like I was unfairly got by things that were offscreen and I couldn't know about, and I felt like choosing the next direction was more random than expected and so I couldn't move quickly because I didn't know how many times I'd have to change direction to get the one I wanted, but overall a fun experience :)
Thanks for playing, really appreciate the comment. So unfortunately I attempted a pivot near the end to the dimensions the game has (so it could be played on a phone easily) and although originally I liked the keyboard inputs as a hacking vibe I wanted to shift to touch / mouse. That didn't happen due to the usual time problems but totally agree that the area you could see is a problem at that scale. Maybe a scan pulse that lets you zoom out for a moment would be a nice touch.
Seems simple enough to begin with but pretty soon turns into a clever little gem of a game. Nice job!
Thanks loads for playing and the kind words. I wanted to keep it simple to start with the tutorial parts and then try to make the game more complex. Really the level design and guards needed some more variety to make it fun but glad you could see the decent parts in it.
