Game Description
A mosquito simulator! You must get as much blood as possible without being squashed.

How does your game tie into the theme?
The game gets harder if the human notices you, such as being in their field of view or bumping into them. So you must stay.... unseen.

Ahah, I felt so guilty playing as a darn sneaky bloodsucker ! Poor coder, just trying to finish the game jam ^^'

It's a really nice game, and quite funny. I liked the music and the mosquito design. Although I felt it was a bit repetitive, maybe the personne could have had some more pattern or set some traps: hidding under the blanket, add anti-mosquito spray making some areas unreachable, etc... (those are examples clearly based personal experience with those darn things  xD ). But they are only suggestions, i know well game jams have a deadline and you accomplished already very much.

Well done and congrats !

I had a lot of ideas that had to be abandoned because of a lack of time. The one I really wanted to make was being able to interact with the environment, which would change the behavior, such as charging into books, making them tumble over, and it would make the human pick them up, so you have more time to bite them.

Maybe someday I'll go back to the idea of making a bigger mosquito simulator :)

Haha very fun game!

The controls worked well, but I sometimes hit the human and nothing happened.

Probably I was going too slow or biting the shirt or hair.

Where I’m from mosquitoes bite even through clothes lol, so I didn’t realise I had to bite skin only :)

the camera is movement speed is too strong and i also struggled to get blood even though i hold both k and l idk if i am doing something wrong, i absolutely loved the music and the idea, goodjob!

Very fun concept! The controls were a bit tricky: moving the camera with WASD was not the best experience for me, and it took me a while to learn that you need to charge, because I don't know how to read XD. Still a great game!

As a person who gets bit by mosquitos like I'm their own personal buffet, I liked this game a lot more than I thought I would! 😂 I thought I was going to be terrible at it when I read the instructions for the movement, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. I enjoyed the inverted-y movement, though I'm sure that'll probably be a point of contention with at least half your players. Nice job!

Fun game, though i sucked at manouvering the mosquito at firs

I get teleported into walls/obstacles too much lol 😆 I'm too impatient to wait for the human

anyway I thought it was a fun game, wondering if the vertical axis could have been inverted by default cause it confused me at first :)

i somehow managed to win and lose at the same time 😭 love this game <3

Currently the controls are a bit confusing for me. I can't seem to understand when I'm supposed to charge, it seems sometimes I bite them but other times not. Could you give me any advice on this?

Developer

You can only bite them on the skin.

If the stress level of the human is high, they have more chance of attacking you, such as stomping or clapping with their hands. You should try to find a safe area, where you can bite them without being seen or hit.

Thanks, knowing this definitely made it more fun. I managed to complete normal, it seemed like a fun and cute little game. I think an interactive tutorial could've made it more fun from the get-go though
