Very cool concept and game. Loved the mic thing. I got stuck where you have to open the boxes but the demon dashes down to you and ragequit. But still very cool game, could actually see a full release for smth like this.

NOTE: if it doesn't send you to the settings screen on first boot, make sure to go there and do mic calibration :]

Very cool concept and great implementation ! It was fun to use. Sometimes it was buggy and had to restart the lvl with "R" so the sound mechanic works again. A part from that it a nice, challenging, and interesting platformer. 


I am also curious on how did you do the sound effects, is it hundreds of node you generates ?

thank you for trying it out! yeah, the microphone sometimes isn't detected when switching rooms, it's a stubborn problem that i couldn't quite figure out in time. thanks for the review :]

as for the waves? each wavefront is a GPUParticles2D node which uses a particle shader to disperse them in a "cone" shape. if you're curious i can share the code! if you meant sound effects as in noises those are just fmodeventemitters

Cool ! And why not CPUParticles2D ? Maybe you could have exported it in web this way. Anyway it works well and it was fun to play :)

i couldn't export in web anyway (fmod gdextension doesn't support it), so i figured i might as well take the performance of GPUParticles :]

This game looks awesome and I LOVE the immersive settings screen but I could not figure out the microphone mechanic. How does it work?

Yeah at first it didn't work, have you tryed the calibration button at the start ?

you need to select and calibrate a microphone in the settings (using the "Microphone Calibration" button - which tells you to use 4 different levels of volume through your mic for 5 seconds each).
it should automatically bring you to that screen on your first boot, but i might've messed that up :/

after that, the "intensity" of the waves is dependent on the volume that comes through your mic. if no red waves come out of your character upon loading a room, try pressing R  to reset the level a few times - it's a bug i didn't manage to hammer out in time
