Game Description
Blind Box.Co is a simulation puzzle game. You work at a postage service and must ensure not contraband gets through.
How does your game tie into the theme?
The game incorporates the 'unseen' theme by forcing the player to assess the packages without seeing their contents. Therefore, the contraband is unseen.

I loved the game (plus I got hired!!!)! The only little complaint I had was that fast fowarding the dialogue would skip to the next one which was slightly annoying, but apart from that, the art was sick, the characters were all really interesting and the whole idea, with mechanics, was insanely original. Apart from that dialogue thing, it was a 10/10!
Thank you for highlighting that issue! I never thought of it, but now that you pointed it out, it is really obvious.
But congratulations on getting hired and thank you for your kind words, it means a lot. Thank you :)
I, unfortunately, am I a skipper of dialogue lol
So close....![]()
This is such a great little game. The art style is particularly excellent, especially the character design. If I would change anything i'd make the text button bigger. I'd also have an option to just place all the text on the screen, instead of waiting for it to pop.
Thank you for the feedback! This is a great point - not sure how I never picked up on this :P
Pretty solid game, I also thought about making a game like papers pls in this jam, but don't have the art skills to do so lol, glad someone did it. Good job on the entry!
I was fortunate enough to work with an amazing artist. Thank you so much for the feedback!
What a cool game! I loved the art and the personality of all the people (+ aliens). I did a TERRIBLE job, I ended up with something like -$200 lol. It would be cool to have more options to investigate the people and more logical deduction to do. Really nice work!
Thank you for the feedback! You're absolutely right, I would have loved to add more information and clues to direct the player :)
This was fun! It was probably just me but I wish there was some sort of notice about what counts as contraband. Like I could guess for normal real world situations, but when an alien is shipping something I thought "who knows in this world what counts as contraband".
Yup I agree, with these strange character, it can be hard tell. Thank you for playing and the feedback :)
Great submission! Reminds me a lot of Papers Please. Unfortunately I did not make the cut for a full time position but was really fun otherwise! I liked the art and scanner mechanics.
Thank you for the feedback! We took a lot of inspiration from Papers, Please. If we had more time, we would have added more clues through postage documents, IDs, etc.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, and sorry about not getting the job :P
This game was awesome. the art was great, the polish and effects were nice. the stories were awesome, the guy on the second day that was moving to a new house... i knew he was up to no good! he just looked a dirt bag. i'm pretty sure i got fired. i tried to x-rays that guys hands. not good use of company asset.
Ahahahahahha I loved reading this. Greg was the first character that we made, and we immediately knew he was going to be sus. I did not expect to see someone trying to x-ray Kyle's hands, but I think that is a great use of company assets.
Thank you for the feedback :)
I really fell in love with the game art and vibe, superb work!
The Brazilian music in the background attached to my feelings too hahah
I personally would like a little better if the tooling was not paid to use (e.g., if I could use x-ray and chem detector all I wanted), and maybe, that could be balanced out in terms of time (e.g., you're not allowed to spend more than X time per day).
But overall, awesome work! GJ
Thank you for the feedback! I actually did not realise it was Brazilian music - I was going for corporate/elevator music. But glad to hear you enjoyed it :P
Yes, that is a great suggestion, and something we were battling with too. We felt that we had to limit how many times people could use the detectors, to avoid trivialising the game. Exploring the time option would be interesting too, since we want people to enjoy all the tools.
Thanks again :)
Very clever game, I definitely think an expanded version of this could work as a larger game. I didn't get hired though :/
Getting a job is no easier in game it seems :(
But thank you for playing the game and leaving a comment. Stoked to hear that you think it has potential as a larger game!
Really great game, one of my favorites so far. I had a similar idea to do a box scan, but ended up going in a different direction. I assume you used this technique for the xray machine? I love the art style, good music and sound as well. Nice job!
Thank you for the feedback and sharing that tutorial.
I used a different approach, but I am surprised that I did not come across this tutorial while trying to implement the effect. My solution used this mask shader to implement the technique - funnily enough, the topic for that thread was discussing how difficult it is to mask sprites in Godot. I came close to giving up before finding that.
If you are interested, you can see my shader here and the script which supplies the shader arguments here :)
Thanks for sharing!!
Good game, I loved the art style and the way you could Xray into the bags was really well done. Solid submission that fits the theme well, well done!
unfortunately, after my trial, I was rejected for the job at Blind Box.Co!
Thank you for playing our game and the kind feedback. Glad to hear the x-ray stood out - it definitely took the most effort :P
