  • "Solid first jam attempt that delivers a functional top-down twin-stick shooter with clear geometric visuals. The rhombus vs squares concept has charm and the 10-minute survival format works for the scope. However, the theme implementation misses the mark - progressive skill unlocks are standard progression mechanics, not feedback loops. For a debut jammer, this shows good technical execution and project completion skills. The core shooting mechanics feel responsive and the geometric art style is consistent. Future jams would benefit from deeper analysis of theme requirements and exploring how game systems can create actual feedback loops where outputs become inputs. This is a fun Asteroids-like game, and the minimal colour palette and visual style work well . It is particularly impressive that thgis is your first ever jam game. One area to improve would be the audibility of the sound effects: it is nice that they are there, but they are too quiet to be useful for the player. There is a music volume slider in the settings: why not include one for SFX, too? Well done of your very first game jam! This is a very solid and charming game. It has a good feel and the the overall style is coherent." --- "This one was quite fun. It felt a bit like an old school arcade game mixed with a more modern “brotato” style game. Overall I thought the character controlled quite well, and the speed and number of enemies helped create some exciting near misses where I ducked and dived. I would say there is plenty of room for improvement – in terms of making the firing and enemy attacking feel nice and juicy I always recommend this tool created by one of the guy’s who made deadcells – it does a really good job of showing how certain techniques can improve a games feel - https://deepnight.net/games/game-feel/ - check it out! While the general feel of the game was quite fun – more work was needed on the power-ups. A lot of them didn’t have text so I had no idea what they did, some of them even after I’d got them I couldn’t work out what the benefit was. I would have considered doing some more obvious things – like increasing my projectile firing rate, making the bullet bigger etc. In terms of the level design there was a nice sense of progression as you got further in. The Ui was quite hard to decipher what was going on – for example I had no idea where my health was for example. This side of things let the game down a bit. Overall though – good work. "
