Nice art, good concept. It's pretty fun! I think more visual feedback and sound effects could be good, also the wait between some turns is a bit slow. I wasn't able to place water despite having the energy to do so. Nice job!

For what’s of the water, it can only be used on fire if present, which is probably why you couldn’t use the card. :F

But there WAS fire, and I couldn't place it, is the fire supposed to be at the top of the tree for me to use water?

When you use fire or water the targeted tile is shown.

I think you might have to fix that, it makes it a bit difficult to get rid of fire at times. Maybe just have water extinguish the first fire in the row.

I went for that approach because it made you think a little more about what you burn, since if all you had to do was use water on the row it would be too easy.

(But let’s be honest like this is a game Jam this kind of stuff was thought for not very long :L)

Very good! Loved it, good art, had fun with it, nice concept, only issue was with the screen size which others have mentioned but other than that I had a good time with this game

Cool game, absolute need to play full screen otherwise the descriptions won't fit. A little music would be great. I really love the art and the concept here. Good job!

I needed some time to figure out what was going on, partly because the descriptions were not fitting, but after I got the hang of it I had a blast. Unfortunately I broke it, after I picked a stem with the stem card and then dropped a fire on the potential stem position. It placed the right fire into  the air and froze after I tried to start the next day xD

Haha!

I thought I’d fixed that glitch.

I just found a consistent way of doing it : if you click on a wood or leaf tile and click out of your browser, the game will freeze, and when clicking back on a fire or ice card, the little potential stem/leaf positions will stay.

Because in the code I treated them the same as the stumps, if you burn one it will Game Over! xD

Anyways, I’ll try to fix it when I have the time. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Really fun idea! Intresting way to incorporate strategy into this. An endless mode would be awesome!

Creative tree-burning concept! Love the strategy, but it’s confusing at first—needs a clearer tutorial. Only 4 tiles felt limited, but super fun once it clicks! Endless mode would rock!

its confusing to play, the use of limitation is all right, the presentation is a bit...... weird, it didn't explain how to play, and its very confusing, I felt like I got put in the space trying to escape with a ship

My overall is 2/5

Yeah, the game definitely needs to be played at least once to be understood at the moment.

Perhaps adding important information in the game description would help it, since the tile descriptions alone might not be enough.

First off: oh. my. gosh! I love it! this game is amazing and I sincerely hope you win the jam.

Second: PLEASEEE make an endless mode. I could do this for HOURSS if I could.

This was my first shot at making a strategy game, and the Jam made it super hard, so seeing comments like this is just amazing!

For what’s of an endless mode, what exactly do you mean by that? The game is already endless, like, you can go to an infinite amount of days.

Anyways, I do think updating it could be a good idea! Thanks for playing!

I mean like after a certain number of days, you have to make a new tree. I mean like you can scroll up infinitely and continue your tree and expand indefinitely

ooo alright. my ONLY complaint with the game is that i get super invested into a tree and enjoy building it, and then i run out of days and it ends

Here's a fun fact :
I originally planned to have more than 4 tiles in the game, like flowers that would boost adjacent tiles.

I ended up using the concept art for the title screen, which is why it includes some weird stuff that didn't make it in!
