How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
Tied Twist is a 2D Sidescroller Platformer in which you need to reach the end with both players to beat each level. There are a variety of enemies to beat and platforms for strategic movement.
How does this game fit the theme?
The reverse theme was used in two ways. The first being a mirrored player that you have to control with the same input as the non-reflected player. Secondly, there are demons in heaven and angels in hell so you must save the angels and kill the demons.
What did you make yourself and what assets did you use?
All assets were created by ourselves inclluding handdrawn art, music and code.
Did you use any AI assets in this game?
No

The idea is really cool and the graphics is top notch IMHO. The controls felt a bit sluggish and "random" at times but that may have been my clumsiness. All-in-all it's a great concept and something to build on. :)
Thank you for playing and your input! Could you elaborate on random so I can improve in future? Your game was impressive too.
I felt that especially the jump was a bit unpredictable for some reason - one character jumping higher than the other but not always the same chatacter. A jump that worked one time did not work the next time. It could of course just be me being clumsy or so, but it stood out for me.
And thanks for the nice words about ny game!
There is a variable jump so it could be the duration you are holding the key or maybe the characters are on different plains. I'll look into it just in case because it could easily be an error on my part. Thank you and sorry about that.
The game is good and the art is really great, thou several times I need to restart the game because players were so separate that none of them were on screen, I wish there were some limit on how apart they could be
Sorry about that, the idea was that you need to balance between prioritizing each player. I was thinking about having a limit or an off-screen indicator but by the time I thought to add it, it was too late. Thank you for playing!
Great work! I was a bit confused with the attack mechanic, and sometimes the mirrored character would be stuck while the other moves. But the visuals especially, super nice! 👌
Thank you! They are intended to move separately but with the same input. What was confusing about the attack? It would be helpful to understand.
I'll follow up on that later. I'll play it again.
It's great idea!
But i managed to separate the players(like one is stuck while other is moving) more that once, feels like that was not intended. Also maybe attack can benefit from some range to it? Because i couldn't kill demons without taking damage almost every time, but it can be me, i'm bad at platformers :)
Thank you! The players moving separately is intentional but I can see why you got the idea that it was not. You can finish the level at different times as for the two platforms at the end of each level. Thanks for playing :)
