  • "Info button on the main menu doesn’t seem to do anything. The countdown clock is initially quite hard to read against the background. The pause button has a box around it, should be transparent to feel more polished. Quite a different style from the replay button too. There’s a bit of an art style clash throughout. It’s a bit incohesive, and could do with being unified under one art direction. Nice character and animation work though! Would be nice to be entirely keyboard-based, I don’t seem to be able to hit ‘Next’ without a mouse. Fun recording mechanic, character, and music! Level select would be worth adding, especially if you want to incentivise the star-rating time-based aspect. Those systems really encourage repeated replaying of levels until mastery. First level took me 51 seconds, but still gave me 5 stars, feels a little odd as I took some time to write notes. Ghost recording could restart to play with timing as another aspect, rather than lingering in its final position indefinitely. Game seems to get a little glitchy when returning to main menu and restarting, music doubles up and player gets stuck in ground on relaunching of first level. Not too sure what the button does at the start of the seesaw level. Feels like the player hits it with 0 action required by me, so what’s its purpose? Unclear what happened when stepping on the green platform with the orange thing above. Is it a projectile? Did it fall on me? Happens very quickly whatever it was. It doesn’t reset on death so only needs to be triggered once, which means it doesn’t tie-in with the ghost recording mechanic. It works well in previous levels utilised as a pressure plate kind of thing though. Level pacing and distribution could be a little more incremental/sequential. There’s some very quick levels near the end, where earlier ones can take longer. It’d be nice to see some longer levels too! Not necessarily more intricate, but just larger and longer to complete. It can take time to design a level, and if it’s completed in 4/5s it feels a little too quick to play. From a production side of things too, you don’t want to spend much time designing levels if they’re going to be completed that quickly. Slowing the pace down/making the levels larger could really help show off the design of the levels/puzzles rather than blitzing right past them. Overall, a good foundation to start from, you have your mechanics, but refining the art style and gameplay pacing would be excellent! " --- Timed Loops is quite fun; the core mechanic is a lot like the classic Flash game "The Company of Myself" and it is implemented quite well. Sometimes the ghosts were a little fiddly, and one of the puzzles relies on you working out that you can jump, which the game doesn't actually tell you. For a jam game I think the number and variety of levels is pretty good! If you are looking to take the game further, my advice is to tighten up the controls for the player character, and the physics; my biggest frustrations with the game were when I was being bumped around by ghosts and physics objects, and having to restart levels due to things like see-saws getting stuck. The most fun (and most original) part was using ghosts to trigger traps; perhaps that could be the core of an expanded title?

creative mechanic. the puzzles are be fun, but never difficult, the only time they were was the early level with the balance beam, which bugged out really bad.

Thank you for the positive comments and the feedback about the 'balance beam' - yeah, sometimes it goes NUTS! If we continue to develop this game, we'll look into that issue.

I really love the mechanic, very creative and well-implemented. And the puzzle are so well-designed, short, sweet and really show off the depth of the main mechanic. This is a great little puzzle game, I really like it! Great work :D
