Interesting
Interesting premise (and I love the art style) but there definitely needs to be some indication of what tools to use in which order.
I really like your art style! I wasn’t completely sure how to play it — should I be clicking on everything and then playing the little bug-moving mini-game? Also, I didn’t hear any sound — was that because I didn’t turn something on in the settings? Still, I really love the museum concept and the visuals!
Loved the art style! I want to know where the story goes, why was it looking at me like that 0-0!
Enjoyed the ending cutscene. Definitely needs more feedback and tweaks with the UI, but this is a good start.
I couldn't figure out how to progress beyond the first screen, but the visual style is great. Looks like you guys are still working on it, keep going!
Thanks for playing!
To address your concerns: The demo does not use the soundtrack and SFX that we're working on for the full version. Being able to drag objects was the original idea for the game, which is why the early dev log entries talk about dragging, yet we decided against it because the objects would lag behind the actual mouse and that looks and feels kind of weird. The same thing can happen during the maze as well but it's not very noticeable since the environment encourages slow movements
I hope you'll be back to give the full version a try!
Ah ok, I'll have to check out your logs. For sure, I'll definitely play the full version!
Edit: wow they are right there on your page lol, missed that entirely
Yayy!! I can't wait to watch your playthrough :) thanks for checking it out!
I love the art style and vibe of this game! A more fleshed out version would be super fun. My main issue I had was lack of feedback, I couldn't tell which tools I needed or if they were working properly. Great job on a beautiful and atmospheric submission!
Hi, thanks for the review.
Making the game easier to understand is something we will be working on. We are planning to add tool descriptions as well as sound feedback for the full version but if you have any other ideas on how we could achieve heightened clarity, let us know!
Awesome concept! The gameplay feels unique and the scare at the end was really disturbing, I expected something completely different and I love a twist! The visuals are also really cool! The only thing I would change is the mouse sensitivty of the maze. I love that it's hard and it should definitely stay that way but I had to bsically slightly twitch with my hand in order to move (in order not to die) instead of actually moving my hand. I would also appreciate descriptions of the utensils to be shown when equipped or hovering over them!
I hope this was helpful! If you ever want to turn this into a bigger project, I'll be excited to play it!
Thanks for playing our game!
I've had the same idea of adding tool descriptions/hints some time after uploading and it will definitely happen! As for the maze, since currently the game only checks for the position of the mouse I'd have to see if it's a good idea to manipulate the actual mouse position, but if it works as intended it will probably be added to a settings menu.
So glad you had fun playing!!
I worked on the art & writing and I’m happy the ending landed and that you liked the visuals!! It means a lot! Your feedback is really appreciated! We look forward to adding some of the content we had to cut for the deadline in the future :]
