I like the really cute, simple art style! It reminds me a lot of Rabbit & Steel - but with its own personality, of course. The music is pleasant, and the writing does what it needs to set the stage.
As for the gameplay, Plants vs Zombies is quite a fun inspiration. It plays well at a glance, and seems very fair and challenging once I get into it. It's a fun concept and excellent presentation overall, so I enjoyed it!
Heeey, you did Market of Eastern Valentine ~ Love at a Fair Price! I remember that one from last year. I really love the art style and the feeling of your games n.n!!! I specially loved the fluffiness of the cut scenes >.< I am now following you for any upcoming games you may make in the future >:D
I really enjoyed figuring out how to beat each level, there are some things as some others have commented, like the penalty at the beginning since it goes to fast, so it's a little bit hard and it is mostly about figuring how to set up everything initially and then things become more simple; Regardless, it was a puzzle that got me invested. The sound effects would have helped me in several circumstances and also the cost of the fairies in the GUI confused me a bit since they are a little bit to cramped so at some point I thought that the cost of each one was below instead of above.
Outside of that I was engaged the whole time, I loved the spin of PVZ combined with a sort of paper mario aesthethic. For a week jam, this is amazing!
My favorite part: The intro and outro are incredibly adorable. And visually it leaves a great impression overall!!
The art is so good, both in-game and for the intro/outro. I tried so hard, but in the end, it doesn't even matter?
Game could probably have used some sound effects or something to really get the players attention when a pesky witch is not being affected by the existing defenses. It feels a bit slow as well: I often found myself building Shanghai in an emergency only for the witch to already have passed the relevant squares by the time it's done (it probably doesn't help that I tend to want to build Shanghai as far right as possible to make the best us of her melee range, which makes me more prone to picking a square that the witch will have walked past by the time I'm done building). Definitely a bit of a learning curve with many restarts from me.
I also love Doll Judgement and fund myself humming along to the music. Cute game!
I think the idea is put shanghai pretty far in the back, as it's more of a wall of decent damage than an instant (everything takes a sec to place so timing it is a bit difficult.)
though yeah, it could've been a bit clearer hereand there
This turned out so good! I've actually never played pvz or much tower defense before, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me. But I enjoyed trying different doll combinations until I found ones that worked! I also loved the art and the whole game aesthetic, very cute :) Thanks again for working with me! I had a lot of fun composing something to capture the lighthearted tension of these two.
Conceptually very very charming. The graphics were adorable, both the "real world" sprites and whatever weird lacanian nonsense is going on in Alice's mind to guard her from Marisa's wooing.
Gameplay wise, I get what was going on here (plants vs zombies style, with alternate forms of "currency"), but it felt a little too "snowball-y," in that you could easily get wiped out early on by neglecting a lane, but at a certain point losing was essentially impossible. All the doll designs were super cute though (shoutout to the catapult and the silencer- my favorites!), so it's whatever.
