lovely visuals and nice controls, i really like all the little hidden paths it's always a joy to stumble upon them!! i thought the enemies were unfair sometimes but other than that i had a fun time!
Hello misterbutter! Thanks for trying out this demo. I am glad you found most of the game enjoyable :-)
Can you let me know what about the enemy felt unfair? I would love to improve them.
i was thinking of the basic one that walks back and forth between two walls, when the player gets closer it starts speeding up and i sometimes felt it was impossible not to take damage while trying to kill it, it was a bit frustrating. and the bat that fly across the screen was hard to avoid at times but that's probably a skill issue. anyway this was only a small issue in an otherwise great game!
I loved the visuals and audio y'all went with for the game—I was able to get the teleportation scroll in my play through! I'm looking forward to seeing y'all make further progress on this one, which it sounds like is in the works after the jam. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Hi tbleazy. Thank you for play and I'm glad you were able to reach the end of this demo!
I appreciate your interest in seeing us finish this project through to the end after the jam. Feel free to follow and or add Arcane Destiny to your collection for future updates. I look forward to your future playthrough feedback.
Cool game! I like the metroidvania elements where you explore around with your newfound powers. The art style looks great, reminds me of NES games which I loved. I was excited to find the egg! I couldn't tell if the game ended after getting the teleport powerup, I never found anywhere to go after getting that. Nice work on the game!
Hello nickbdawg! I'm glad you had a great experience and do appreciate you giving our game a shot.
With the time restraint we had, the teleportation scroll concludes the demo. I am happy to hear you were able to find the egg! How easy or difficult was the secret area to find?
We do plan to continue the development of this game. Our goal with this game is to incorporate exploration, secrets, ability progression, and a compelling narrative.
Feel free to add the game to your collection or follow me here on Itch for future updates. I look forward to hearing about your future experiences with our game! Your thoughts and opinions matter.
I really like the whole style of this game. Unfortunately I always got the stuck in one direction bug so I could't get too far,
Hello LunaIndigoStudio. Thanks for trying out the game!
I do apologize for this bug. We did not experience this bug while testing early on or I would have squashed this right away. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to update the game.
We have been experiencing different bugs on each browser. These will all be fixed in due time after the voting period.
I would appreciate it if you would do another test in the future as we continue to develop this game into a full experience after the jam. We need testing from the community more than I could have imagined!
I'm glad to hear you'll continue with the project's progress. I'll give it another try on future updates.
Thank you :-)
The gfx and sound (especially music) is right up my alley. While pretty straight forward game play and nice controls, it still felt nice with the exploring concept.
Hello VisualImpact. Thank you for playing.
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed everything we had to offer in 1 weeks time. We will be continuing the development of this game after the jam. I do hope you get to try out the future builds!
This was a quite nice game though i have no clue how it relates to reverse. Also its pretty hard to hit enemies without also getting hit.
visuals and audio are the highlight
Hello Kazakking. We appreciate your feedback!
The reverse concept is the life system in the game. That is yet to be implemented at the time of this posting.
The beginning introduction talks about a ring that is given to you. This ring will have specific charges that deplete upon death and can be recharged using the gem stones you collect.
Oh ok ill make sure to rerate it once youve updated the game
Thank you :-)
With your comment in mind, I will increase the player attack speed and increase the "stop delay" the enemies experience when being attacked.
What a great nice looking game, loved animations and the music.
I believe i found an egg.
There was some amount of visual 'line' flickering for me, not sure about what caused it.
Hello dezm0n. Thanks for your comment.
I'm currently working on dialogue for special item pick-ups. This way everyone can understand their meaning. I'm happy you found the egg! I will be hiding 1-2 more in the near future.
The visual line flickering will not appear in a pixel perfect setting. For instance, full screen mode. A full final build in the future will not contain the visual flickering because the game will be downloadable and force specific resolutions by default.
