I'll never recover from seeing Mrs Kitty in chains like that 😭
For this run, I played on my laptop using Safari. I noticed that the game plays much more quickly on this browser than it did when I played on Firefox in a previous run. Still a great metroidvania with incredible art and fun gameplay, but on this run I was wondering how the game would play differently if the map could be accessed more quickly via
the unused select buttonanother button combo instead of exclusively through the start menu? It was an essential part of my first run, and on the second one I started I found myself reaching for it less (having played through once already), but I still think it's useful enough of a feature that quicker access would be valuable!Edit: thanks Kuro for pointing out that select is used for changing abilities later on after getting the first one. Duh!
Yeah, it's been a mainstay in all my vania-style games that [SELECT] is used to switch between abilities, similar to how it was used for certain adventures on Zeebus, SR3-Eightyily-Eight and other such games.
Solid Metroid variant. Just because I'm bad at it because I'm on a desktop not-using-a-gamepad is not going to prevent me from giving it a rating as -if- i fully played it. Which I think you did fine here.
Gave you an itch follow. If you like the things on my page(s), consider doing the same.

I think this is a very fun take on the theme and a metroidvania!
I love the way it resembles retro games and I think it would be really cool if you could somehow port this onto a NES or symilar console.
However I do wish there was a specific button for the abilities rather than the button combination.
I still had a great time playing, despite the struggles, and I will probably come back to finish it!
Good Job
Thanks for the fun afternoon metroidvania! This was a fun one. I liked the unique attack/dash mechanics, was fun and challenging.
Got a little lost finding the last coin dropoff location - partially because the colors of the coin didn't match the zone colors, and the lack of landmark on the minimap so i was wandering the green zone for a while.
When I found the 4th coin location for the fire zone, I went in the backdoor via the purple zone, so it felt a bit easy. The coin was only 3 screens away from the entry! So I didn't feel like I really 'earned' that one by going through the full fire zone. (If you enter the east entrance via the green zone... that would have been super challenging cus it's like 20 screens away from the save point!!)
