This was a phenomenal game all around! The concept is unique, novel, and highly interesting to begin with. I was immediately impressed by the storytelling style via panels (and soon via dialogue). From there, the retro visuals & music combined with some colorful style make for a fun arcade feel, as well as a perfect fit for the incidentally arcade-like gameplay.
Controls are very fun and easy to understand. The game plays smoothly and has a lot of variety, all while being a perfect balance of fair yet challenging.
The execution and presentation is excellent, so it's easily one of my favorites! Impressive work!
The game is pretty good! Probably my favorite one playing (during the rating period haha). The aesthetic and music really comes together, and stuff like a tracking highscore, a ranking system, and a secret mechanic makes it easy to replay it over and over again!
Using hearts as an extra ball if you want is a really cool mechanic. Music's also boppin'.
Sidescrolling Touhou: Highly Irresponsible to Dates <3
I really like the concept from the first Touhou despite how choppy it can feel. This game however feels sooo snappy. Apparently I'm not very good at the game going by the final score n.n', but even so, it feels challenging enough. The idea of doing chains and striving for better scores does compels both beginners and more advanced players to play at their own pace.
The songs are some BANGERS! I was hooked from the very beginning and the artwork is so vibrant. Also, I don't know why but Eiki and Komachi relationship remind me of Goku and Chichi in this game, but I find it hilarious. I do endorse their goofball, chaotic, kind of incompatible, silly love hahaha
My Favorite Parts: The Music!!! and Tanned Eiki is adorable.
This game is really fun!
I've always love "hit the ball into brick" games and this one has so many of the features I like about them. Parry timing, ball juggling (in the form of hearts), and H I T S T O P. Komachi and Eiki are enjoyable in this too. The retro style is done super well in this too. The entire game pulls of an arcade style of fun really well
Also, being able to hit the enemys that shoot in 360 and cause a ultramegahyper death beam is funny.
Learning the secret trick made it much easier to maintain a combo. This is by no means a perfect or even a good run (I keep forgetting that the dive has a CD so I run into the coin), but I basically doubled my score just by using the secret trick to maintain my combo into the 100s until sadly dropping it.
Game is great fun! One of my favorites this jam for sure.
Pretty good game! I enjoyed the gameplay quite a bit, but a few parts of it were very easy to cheese due to the dive attack. Starfish enemies that were supposed to seem like a big issue could be one-shotted very easily by diving very close to them, and the swipe attack didn't have any use at all. The story was very funny, though!
non-dive attack was kinda redundant, but other than that the game was Really fun to play!

Non-dive attacks were quite helpful for me during the boss fight as I was running out dives and I needed to clear the screen from bullets n.n'
