Cool and charming jam entry! The narration and story bits are funny and add to the whole 90s vibe. I was unable to get to the top of the tower to finish the game, but exploring the island was fun.
Thank you for your comment! Glad you liked it, and sorry, some of the original plans were a bit lost in the admidst of trying to at least deliver a playable version of the full concept! Glad you were still able to enjoy the game nonetheless!
very cute surrealist game. no clue what was going on but that was not necessary to have fun here. i tried so hard to get to the top of the tower with the grappel hook, but either you guys made it too tall on purpose, or i need to practice more . .
Hahaha it was intended to be the ending of the demo, although we had to cut that short due to the time limit!
Thank you for the comment! It’s great to know you had a good time, and we hope you’ll get to see our post-jam version in a week or two.
Spoiler alert!!!... I was having fun until I got stuck in the cave with the old critter. The dark end is a solid wall, it didn't trigger anything. Is this is a puzzle?
Oh boy, that was a bug that was on the list to fix but it seems that in the end it was left there. :/ We’ll be releasing a director’s cut after the jam is over fixing bugs like that.
Happy you enjoyed it throughout regardless! :)
Ah. I will check it out when you update it.
This was my favorite game in the jam, goes so hard, cracked me up and surprised me in a few areas.
ahah that’s great news! The game is like half of what we wanted to deliver, so knowing that just that was enough to enjoy makes us really happy :)
I played the Windows "0.2" version on Wine in Linux.
Interesting use of full motion video.
"The Jet Ski is broken" hmm...
The apostrophe in "I'm" is not displayed correctly.
I appreciate the smoke cloud drawing attention to the jet ski.
Can't walk up the stairs without getting stuck.
I was told the rope is behind the house. Is the white thing the rope?
Walked back to my cave looking for a rope, I don't know where the rope is.
Overall: I liked the use of full-motion video. Quite unique for a game jam.
Fun: it was not clear what to do. There's a lot of open space.
90s: This game could run on Dreamcast.
Visuals: I liked it overall, but some things like the house felt out of place and dropped in to place without really matching the rest of the aesthetic.
Sound: wow. Sound designer needs a raise.
Thank you so much for the comment!
Most of these issues we’re aware of, yet we could not fix them in time for the jam unfortunately. We will be releasing a “director’s cut” fixing most of the issues, and fixing the voicelines that should have been instructing you. See this problem kind of as “you were supposed to be guided, but the guide got lost in the way”.
I hope that even with those issues, you were still able to enjoy it, because we did!
J. Son Guine seems to be a cool guy.
His moveset showcases the magnificent, yet dangerous level of sheer summer vibes.
