cute vibe, loved when the ingredients got increasingly unhinged. i agree with other comments that the ketchup was confusing, felt like i was doing something wrong because of the sfx
okay really though this slaps and brings me back to my warioware touched! days when I was a kid. Feels like it would be perfect on a Nintendo DS
I like the no ketchup joke but the sfx when you throw away the ketchup is a little confusing because it sounds like you screwed up or something (especially if you're trying to go fast and just happen to hit the right input for the ketchup as it comes in), but I love the variety of stuff to chop and all the customers!
also the music was like crackly for me? I thought my audio card was freaking out for a sec
Ahh... Hot Dog Heaven... I have the fondest of memories playing this in my uncle's basement. He died eating a bomb that looked like a hotdog so this is a bit of a sore spot for me.
Jokes aside- had a smile from ear to ear the whole time. Legit burst out laughing from time to time as well. Al Capone- or NOT Al Capone- Got me good. I'd love to play this with the intended controller cause it looks hella fun, but even with just the mouse I was having a lot of fun. Gonna echo what Sonk said, felt like the mouse was a bit touchy, sometimes to my benefit and other times to my detriment. This was the first one I played a few times just to make sure I saw everything. Great work!
Loved this! I love the super satisfying feel of cutting and preparing the items, feels like a mix of fruit ninja with cooking mama. The newgrounds esq character art is great and definitely adds to the comedy of the weird items on the dogs. Also love how the items actually show up on each hot dog and its not just one repeated asset, nice attention to detail. Using mouse was a bit inconsistent, not because it wasnt reading, it just felt like it was reading too much, where the slightest movement would count as a success. Didn't feel unfair, but didn't make it always feel like I was actually achieving something ya know? But I know this was made with motion controls in mind so I would love to try this out like that sometime, nice job!
Looove the art style!! The font kind of reminds me of the browser-based Tamagotchi games. Super cool you were able to get motion controls done in time for the jam. It was a bit hard to maneuver on a trackpad, and the motion icon on the hotdog took a bit before we realized it was a mouse with the left button highlighted (although again that might be a trackpad issue)
