Kindred - nice homemade atmosphere, again like Undertale (when will you create your own version already?). While I'll never understand the feelings of comfort in other people's hands, I can only imagine them, vaguely.
Strangers - I really liked that you decided to make it in the style of some future-punk metropolises. It's like you're like a ghost moving through crowds of people, looking not at them, but at the neon signs around you.
Enemies - you must have been inspired by Rudyard Kipling's Boots poem (boots, boots boots boots, moving up and down again...). Actually, it's quite revealing: all that horror and disregard for everything in the world, just to cover a couple more living corpses for the sake of a millimeter of territory.
And Self is like a mountain in the middle of a clearing, where everyone around you is listening to niche mainstream, K-pop and the like, and you are the only one against such an army of zombies listening to, for example, rock. And not just any rock, but unusual, for example, The King Of Limbs by Radiohead. Don't give a shit about your opinion, you don't like it, so shut up and listen to your shit, I'll listen to mine.
As always, you're on top of your game :)
Thank you so much for the thorough analysis :)
I'm glad that I could evoke these images for you and that what you describe is largely what I was going for vibes wise. The Boots poem is actually new to me, but I gave it a read just now and I must say it does fit quite well to the song.
What I like the most about this submission is how each piece captures a different vibe, but still flows together well. Very nice consistency in production!
I think 'Enemies' would have to be my favorite because I think it bests illustrates what you've articulated in the description - waging war, imposing our image onto others. Destruction of others disguised as patriotic songs.
Honestly an excellent use of samples overall.
I think my only piece of feedback has to do with 'Kindred', in that I felt like there could've been a little more distinction between the guitar parts. In my opinion, having a complimentary guitar part on one side of the mix that played a more noticeably different part would've been a bit more in line with what you may have been aiming for with this piece, concept-wise.
Thanks for sharing your music, and keep up the good work :)
Thanks for the feedback! I like your suggestion for Kindred, a sort of conversational thing in the rhythm guitar would be a cool idea if one can pull it off without distracting from the lead too much.
this list is fluent and good
Thanks dude ^^
