I really enjoyed the game! However, I think it would benefit from more narrative elements to help teach the player how to play and clearly communicate the goal. A bit more guidance early on would improve the overall experience.

Developer

Thank you so much!
Yeah, I was thinking of starting with just a few tiles and a stronger intro animation that hints at an upcoming attack. I think that would make things clearer, maybe something like showing a nearby city being attacked at the start just to show how it works, and then the camera pans back to the player's view.

I originally tried to go for something subtle and didn’t think it through much. When you place the first house, it shows "Protect your population," but it doesn’t really explain how to defend them.
Still, I think with basic logic the gameplay is manageable, since there are only a few core elements: you need money to afford food to keep your population fed while also defending them. Maybe a better UI layout would help clarify the resources and how they work.

As for the goal, I think instead of just showing “Turn 1/31”, I could display a timeline at the top of the screen with a victory icon at the end. That would make it more intuitive than just showing the max turn number.

Nice animations and sounds! Feels like Civilization meets tic-tac-toe.

Developer

thanks!!

Awesome everything :) the models, the music, the sound design - the cards and snappyness of them. You did a great job - even if it wasn't a 2 week game jam!

Developer

Thank you very much! I ran a lot to manage the time and be able to finish

Impressive of how professional it looks, from the music to the artstyle! maybe some quick tutorial would be great because the beginning is a little bit overwhelming, but overall, this is a great entry!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Rad game! I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing (I know there's some kind of battle happening, but the day-to-day actions weren't explained at all), but it was still fun to slap cards and houses around the map and watch them pop up. A quick tutorial - either in-game or in the itch page description - would be super helpful! Great work!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it.

Each building has its function: population, defense, money, and food. And money buys things. You have to keep the population alive and eating, so you always have to maintain food and population. The attack will attack the defense first, and then the population.

I'm intrigued by it, but it's a shame that it only runs at very low frame rates

Developer

If possible, disable post processing and reduce the render scale in the settings, it might help. Or download the (Windows version), the WebGL is usually laggy. Sorry about that, I'd be happy if you could play.

Developer

I made a new build with lower quality. Added a Quality button and set a lower render scale in the settings. I hope this helps.

The web version is still barely working, so I played the win version and it did well :D

Interesting game

(You forgot to add the exit button XD)

Developer

Thanks!! glad you liked. lol it's true, forgot the exit

There is no tutorial nor instructions on how to play this game. 🥲

Developer (1 edit)

I didn't have much time to make a tutorial, but it's very simple, you just have to defend yourself from attacks and keep the population alive. but you're right, I'll have at least some text on the page saying what to do

Wow, this was incredible, it is really difficult to manage all the resources. I loved the 3D models and everything works very well.

Developer

Thank you very much!! glad you liked 😊

Really well made. The fact that you submitted this 6 days before the deadline is crazy. How do you manage to make something this good in that time frame.

Developer

Thankss!

I've been creating games in game jams for a while now, so I already know the steps to follow. But what's really helping me to be much faster is using Bezi.
