Does this need to be a real learning app or can it also be a gamr based on math (like those 2048 stacking games)?

Any game that requires math skills to progress is acceptable. So the concept of a 2048 style game where you have to mentally multiply the two numbers and enter the value to progress would be the degree to which it would be acceptable.
